Crafty Pad # 16

The challenge this week is in a form of a sketch. :) :)

You may twist or turn it anyway you like
as long as we can see the basic sketch...
you may also add extras if you like. :)

Here is the sketch:-
This is my take on it.
I have used Faith ~sure

Her hat & belt are heat embossed.
She is coloured using promarkers .

I hope this makes sense.....I am still half asleep.

I wanted to try to do something different this week.
Since I don't have square nesties,
I measured the same distance from the outside edge
inside all the way round the front of the card,
marking it with pencil.
Used my craft knife to cut out the centre square.

Then I masked off a border using post it notes.....
High tech stuff here!
Stamped it with versamark,
then heat embossed with black powder.
The speckles are because I didn't use anti-static talc
so a few bits stuck on other bits than the edges.....

I used a larger square of white pearl card to make
next layer fixing it down with eyelets.
The next layer is black card, edged with silver peel off lines.

You can see the slight space
I have left between the two squares,
which when the card is closed you can
see the mirror card inside
So I can write inside the card I used white card
cut out & embossed using nesties label 1
I smudged the edges with red ink.

The challenge is open to anyone - but only those using a Crafty Pad stamp is eligible for the prize. :)

The prize this week is:-
some nice All Night Media chalks and some flowers and brads. :)

So come on over and join us at Crafty Pad & check out the lovely cards the other DT girlies have made!

Saturday Shanagins!

Yesterday was a Fantastic day!
Got to go see Amanda at long last!!!
It is years since we last saw each other....and met up again online due to our crafty blogs!
It takes two hours or so to drive to her house.

Amanda & I had both decided after posting we were gonna meet up twice & having to change it twice due to things happening, including her ending up in hospital!!!
That we were not gonna plan to meet again......but if I just ended up at her house,
and I just happened to have my stamps and craft stuff in my car.......
and if I wanted to stamp up with her .....then that would be ok.
So various texts going back and fore.
Both not doing doing any on Saturday
.....both healthy.....
I just happened to be passing her road end.....( once I got right road end!)
We got together!!!!
We spent ages stamping away for an image swap.....
And , what would you know, I also just happened to have the two new stamps Amanda wanted from Sugar Nellie & a new ink pad, as hers was done in my bag that we swaped for cash! LOL!

It was a lovely afternoon, the two DH's bleathered about all sorts,
The two doggy girls had a great time!!!!

This is the only picture we managed to get as they didn't stay still for long enough!
And Gypsy is coming to stay with Poppy in October!!!
No kennels for your holidays this year Gypsy!
Lily was a wee honey and did some stamping and played with dogs.
She is a beautiful wee lassie!
We had a lovely supper and I am still getting ink from under my nails.

I got fab goodies including papers, SU stamps and altered tin from Amanda!
And it had lovely goodies in it, charms, brads, and .....
her left over bit of my fave punpkin ribbons from the
Spring Time Crafty Ribbons challenge we both did!!!!!!!

Talking of Crafty Ribbons......

You know I have really enjoying working The Crafty Ribbons Challenges,
this time working with beautiful colours I would not normally pick.

I had made this wee folded tag book.

The Crafty Ribbon's Team are in Paris at a Craft show with the challenge cards.....

Well I did chuckle when I saw this on the Crafty Ribbons Blog ~

"One section of our stand has been turned into spring -
we have all your wonderful cards on display, hanging from a washing line, with wooden dollie pegs - looks wicked. Thank you for all your hard work. Tina made us a delightful little tag album, with photos from the blog and using all "Spring Time" ribbons, we have this on our demo table. I have never made one of these, so explaining it in english would be a problem, but in French!!! We had to take it off display today, it was causing too much of a stir! "

Sunshine smiles

It is beautiful outside today....
too nice to stay inside.
Busy day at work today &
then back in this evening to work at a clinic.
Being trained up to work a new one will be interesting.
But another cut into my crafting time.
I will have time to play at the weekend.

Poppy is loving this change in the weather.
She is so full of beans just now.
She thinks it is a funny game to pinch things,
then give them to you,
looking for a reward for giving you something!

Hard to give her a treat when she
pinches the treat box!!!

She has pinched the peg box....
scattered the pegs and then brings them in one at at time
looking for a reward each time....

You have to go get it from her,
strangely it is one of the few things
she will not return to you.......
& yes, she can pop it open and help herself!

She has also taking to digging holes again
and burying the garden ornaments in them!

She is so funny!!

More Mumbles

My face is still a wee bit sore after my
root canal treatment ~ not so nice.
I am off to work to do a late shift in
a wee while so will need to go looking to see
what you have all been up to later on this evening.
Anyhoo.
I have managed to finish off these cards,

This one is for The Sugar Bowl # 7
who are looking for Spring Cards.
What says Spring more than
Lambing time with Hamish!

The photo is not so good,
the base card is a beautiful green colour
I have used sukura on his welly boots.

And this one is Penny Black Saturday Challenge
also want us to Think Spring too.

This one I am not so keen on.
I am still getting used to colouring
with H20's & I don't think I have done it very well.
I made a bit of a mess with his feet and tummy.

The flower & bee's are done with sukura pen.
The lovely lime Ribbon is left from my
Crafty Ribbon Challenge stash.

Lastly is Tilda as a
sorry life is crap but hope it gets better soon card.

I tries to make the puddle using three
different heat embossing powders
which look more shimmery in real life.
And inside her wee mulberry paper bag
is a bag of tiny tiny brads from Poppicrafts.
They are just 3mm big!!!

So, best get going and get to work.
Hope April fools day was fool free for you!

Last Monday in March

I can't believe it is almost April!
Where did March go to?
Been a busy and long day.
Was at work really early then
had the dentist this afternoon.
Root canal treatment.... YUCK
Face was quite swollen but is ok now,
and felt well enough to go to a lovely
Local Chinese Restaurant with DH for a meal.

Poppy's mate Brodie can round afterwards
for a wee play, she is now well & truly pooped!

And this is here, on the sofa she is not ment to be on.....

*sigh*

hope you are all well.
Love Tina xxx

Should be cleaning but....

I am making the most of my day off
before going back to work tomorrow.
I have just about finished sorting my craft area out.
I can't find my tweezers...but did find
a few other bits I had lost.

Got a few cards done,
The lighting is not so great
but I hope the idea of what I was trying to do.

This one is an order for a workmate.
It's for a lassie they know who has
special needs, will be 21 & loves goldfish.

This is what I ended up with.
I tried it with papers on the front but
I think it looks better left plain.

The fishie is on a folded acetate strip
so sticks though the bowl.
And the 21 is flat on the pale blue
shimmery card inside.

The grass is stuck inside the card on the bowl.
The fishie is glittered, and a few glitter bubbles are
ment to look like they coming from its wee mouth.

I tried again with the fiskers shape cutter
to cut out a large circle shape.
But I still canny get it right.
I am entering it in the ABC Challenge
G for Glitter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now you know I am not good with these wee
Forever Friends bears.
I love what everyone else dose with them
But am rubbish at colouring them in.
So....left them plain on shimmery pearl card.
Used my sukura pen to colour the heart and Ribbon.
The black backing paper is a shimmery too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My last one is using up an image sent to me by Debbi
still haven't inked mine up yet...
was waiting till I got to Amanda's for a crafty day,
Didn't get there again yesterday.......
talk about jinxing it!

Not sure about this one.
I used my paper of the moment Bo Bunny,
turned it round so I could fit in the
text and the image.
It is to go to one of two folk, just not sure who yet.
The flowers & stems are coloured with sukura glaze.
I am entering it for One Stop Craft Challenge
who this wee want you to use bling on your card.

Right, am gonna go have some food,
then finish watching Lewis from last week
and then go do some more crafting!
I have two more bits to finish off
and a few ideas I want to tinker with.

have a lovely Sunday.

much love Teen xxx

Craft Pad # 15

It's Spring time !!!

honest it is!
OK so we have had snow & rain &
the odd sleet shower!
but it is Spring time baby!
(Did you remember to put the clocks forward?!?!)
Anyhooo......

Over at Crafty Pad # 15
we are celebrating Spring!
We are looking for you to use
spring time colours
yellows, oranges, pinks, greens etc.

You can use any stamp you want but if
you want to be entered in the wee prize draw
then you need to use one of the
Crafty Pad stamps please.

So this week I have done two cards.
( can you tell I am off work on leave this week?)

Firstly.....
Here is Ted and the ball

I used my nesties to cut out the front of the card
and the ball is embossed yellow vellum .
( now I am singing they call me mellow yellow
each time I think yellow vellum ....
are you now too?)
Have also punched out green velum leaves.

The next card is more to do with new life
as in starting a new phase in life.

This is for my mate who is starting a new phase
and it is my first ever
Congratulations on your divorce card!
Now I am Happily Married,
and I am not taking divorce lightly,
but this is a good thing for my Mate.

And I hope she finds Happiness and Joy !

I am not sure that when the lovely Debbie
was designing these fab stamps
this is what she had in mind for Faith....

But just shows how versatile
these stamps are eh!!
