We will remember.

At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
We will remember them.

Laurence Binyon (1869-1943)

For The Fallen

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.

Solemn the drums thrill; Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres,
There is music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England's foam.

But where our desires are and our hopes profound,
Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,
To the innermost heart of their own land they are known
As the stars are known to the Night;

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain;
As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,

To the end, to the end, they remain.

too sweet!

So I was talking to Karen
AKA Suga Mama at Papercrafts
the other day about cake.....
and she said give me tablet any day.

So I thought.....ok I will!
I tried yesterday to make some
following a recipe from my Niece who
makes the best cakes and sweeties.

But I ended up with a soft sticky toffee.....

SO I reboiled it and beat it to blazes today....

and ended up with.....

TABLET!!!!!

I spent way too much time
this afternoon making a box to
put some of the devil sweets into!

This is pillow talk.
But she always makes me smile due
to the name she should have had.
Am saying no more on the subject!

I can't wait till January when the
hippy one from this series is available.
I didn't buy all 6 and she is not
out as a single till the new year.

I made quite a few errors with the box.
But then the tablet is nae that great!
Hehehe!

Looks good enough to eat!

I did have a little helper....
who sneeks into any open cupboard
and pinches anything she can!

Hope you are just dandy!

birdies and puppies

Well....I am back again,
my old laptop died
and my wee netbook
is good for surfing but
a nightmare for blogging.

I have a new laptop
(Thanks Hubby!)

I am slowly getting used to
the new keyboard layout.
I keep hitting what I think is the
shift key, but it activates
the web and publishes
the post before I am done....

I also dont know how to activate
a spell check on this or facebook
when I leave a comment or write a post.
So many errors may appear
until I get that sorted out.

~~~~~T~~~~~
The next three pics are from
Kates card class at papercrafts.
Firstly.....a door hanging.
Sorry for colours, I haven't
figured out photo editing just yet either.
~~~~~T~~~~~

I love this next layered card.
It was meant to have some golden glitter on it,
but I haven't got round to that yet.

The white card is hammered,
and lifted up on foam pads.

~~~~~T~~~~~
Lastly, I really love this card.
The wee birdie is a stampin up punch.
I didn't line up my scollops properly.
~~~~~T~~~~~

Lastly....I had an amazing time at the SECC,
bumped into some friendly faces,
& thanks to a demo from the amazing Kath,
I can now use my fiskers shape cutter
that I have had for a few years
and never been able to use!!

It was mega busy on the Saturday,
and also amazing how many rude people
you can fit into such a packed place!
There was some real crazy shoppers!!!

My pal who drove me down
bought me this beautiful
Penny Black stamp.

I bought these 8 inch pre cut cards.
but to be honest they are
pretty thin & not sure I will use them
too often due to that.

Right......
a puppy update.

Bella Boo the blondie is 8 1/2 months,
and as cheeky as anything.

Now it looks like Bella and Poppy
arehaving a violent fight
but they like to play rough!
They chase each other,
hide and pounce on each other
all the time.
Teeth clack and fur is pulled....
but no tears are shed,
and they both go back for more.

This is their bed.
AKA the playpen.

Is Poppy smiling???

I love this next one the best.

Poppy fell asleep with her head resting on
Bella's paw.

Hope you are all well.

pretty cute!

I am having serious laptop problems.
This machine is on it's way out
and until my new one arrives....
is driving me insane!!!

Anyway......

A few makes from this week.
A new stamp....SWALK I think.
Not sure if it is too girlie
but I kind of like it.

Allsorts want cards linked to song titles.
Well this one could be Raindrops keep falling on my head.

~~~~~T~~~~~
These next three are from a card class
over at the House of Sugar
with the lovely Kate.
I have since added some red glitter dots
and a Christmas stamp at the bottom.
But am unable to download photos
due to this naughty laptop!
~~~~~T~~~~~

I love this next card.
A glitter shaker card with
an embossed image on
lovely shimmery purple card.

A spoonful of sugar want sparkle and shine.

~~~~~T~~~~~
I love this card as well.
The backing paper is
not something I would usually use
but I really liked it.
The white card is embossed
and then burnished with chalk inks.
~~~~~T~~~~~

Now this card was a bit of a play for me.
And I am not 100% sure about it.
The poppy was stamped onto
Stampin Up card stock and
then fine embossed.

It is my challenge card for
Creative Card crew as they want Blooms.

Now............
over to some cuteness.
Blondie (AKA Bella) and her best mate
Poppy spend all their time together.
They are both at dog class together
this week too. Poppy has been taking time
off while Bella catches up.
It is too much to work them both
but Hubby is free on Wednesday
evening so his is going to
work Bella all this month.
Bella works ok for me until
she sees Hubby then just stops.
She just sits and cries until
she can get to him!

Hope you are all well.

Friendships.

Yesterday I went to Alford to Simply Create,
Jacqui has the most lovely shop.
Kath was doing a Christmas demo
and it was lovely to see her work.

I was bit nervous about going,
I will be honest,
I have suffered with
depression for a few years,
and a last result is I often feel
very anxious in new settings
or with people I don't know.

I find it easier to have friendships
online rather than make new ones
face to face.....

But I have got to know Kath online
for a few years now
and it was worth going
to get not one... but two hugs
from this lovely lady!

This was a wee card I made for Kath.

~~~~~T~~~~~
This was a card that we all made at the demo
after Kath made a similar one.
I love the white, brown and black
on the brown base card.
I loved the mix of the white
embossing powder and plain versamark
on the brown card.
~~~~~T~~~~~

The next two are makes from today.
This one was inspired from yesterdays
demo card.
I have used Penny Black script stamp
in the back ground and I have no idea
who makes the large snowflake stamp
I have embossed with white powder.

I am entering over at
Creative Inspirations
who want Xmas cards,

~~~~~T~~~~~
This wee wall hanging is made
using Penny Black script stamp
again in the background
and a stickaroo on the top.
I couldn't find my swirly stamp
so used the tail feathers of
a wee birdie stamp to edge the base.
Penny Black want you not to be square.
Oh Alice want text featured.
Pixie Dust wants swirls.
Hope you are all well, I am off to go see what
you have all been up to.
Hugs
Love teen xx
ABC and Secret Crafter both are
looking for easel cards.
Allsorts want travel featured.
Just Magnolia say anything goes.
Passion for promarkers want shabby chic.
Wednesday, 29 September 2010
Wednesday all day.
I can't believe that my two weeks
annual leave from work is almost over.
It has been a busy two weeks
and I could use another two
weeks to get all I need done.
A few makes to share...
This notebook cover using tilda
is my take on a sketch by Dawny P
for Just Magnolia.
The main papers are Bo Bunny & a
wee bit of basic grey from my scrap box.
~~~~~T~~~~~

My card uses the same image,
I don't own this stamp but
it is one of my favorites.

I am entering it in colour throwdown
who want red, pumpkin and olive.
It is also my take on another Dawny P's
sketch this time from over at Papertake weekly.
I am also entering it in
my time to craft
who want it looks like Autumn.
The backing papers are
downloads that I forgot I had.

~~~~~T~~~~~
This card is for a friend who wants
it for a good friend on hers.
It is Stella from Bugaboo
I made the 'Me' background,
it is a standing joke between the
two girls.
I am entering it in a spoonful of sugar
who want spots and stripes.
~~~~~T~~~~~

Wednesday is Puppy Class night,
Bella is not as keen as Poppy
is to participate at class.
When Andrew appears Bella
sits and cries and wont do anything
but run over and sit at his side.

She is smart, but thrawn,
and does what she wants,
when she wants.....

Mind you, they both know
they are not meant to go
up on the sofa after being out
in the rain..........

*sigh*

Sunday, 26 September 2010

Gnomes and Kitty Cats.

This must be my lucky week!
I won the weekly challenge over
at Pixie Dust's blog
and picked this wee guy as my prize!

I am entering this card in two challenges.
This is my take on Friday sketchers,
I have rotated the sketch around.

Passion for promarkers want you
to make your own flowers.
I made my flower
from bits of ribbon.
The main DP is basic grey.

~~~~~T~~~~~
Since this a pixie Dust Image
I thought I would take part in
their sketch challenge this week too.
The main DP on this card is Bo Bunny.
~~~~~T~~~~~

Next is a card requested by my sister
for her friend Alison.
She asked for me to use this stamp
and the three colours
Green, Blue & Turquoise.

I am entering it in sketch saturday.
I moved the image over a wee bit
as it was difficult to cut through
the layers, and I wanted to keep
as much of the paper lace in it as
I could, hope this is ok.
Oh Alice want a window on
this weeks card.

I am really enjoying my week off
and have plans for next week already
including the gym, lunch out and
a shopping trip to Aberdeen,
including the papermill.
Happy happy!!

Hope you are all happy today too xx

Moonlight and setting sun

I think one of the best things about blogging
crafty stuff is learning new techniques
and getting inspiration!

A sure place to get lots of inspiration
is over at Curt's world.
His photography is absolutely amazing!!
And his doggy boys are just gorgeous!

Curt has a link on his latest post
to Michelle Zindorf
who has done several tutorial
including using a brayer and ink
to create amazing cards.

So this is my attempt at this style of cards.

My moon is slightly two yellow
but I like the end effect.

I had a second attempt.
And this time, I made the sun too
yellow! I am never happy
am I?

You can't see it that clearly
but there is wee blue gems
on my second birdie.

I really enjoyed making these
and can see me playing with
this style again.

Hope you are grand.

cuddles and cuteness

I am having a great week at home,
to those people who say that
if they won the lottery they would still work....

I say....
NOT ME!!!!
I could easily amuse myself !

I made this card a wee while ago
but it only turned up at the person's house
yesterday so can only post it here now!

An alternative anniversary card.

I have the poem on the computer upstairs
it is all about how love is weird! LOL.

I am entering it in Scrapbook sisters Challenge
who want your make to go over the edge.
Thank you to Julie for suggesting same.

~~~~~T~~~~~
This is a card I made today,
for a cousin who I lost touch with 22 years ago
and found again online thanks to
facebook!!!
I am entering it in A spoonful of sugar
who say anything goes.
Oldie but a goodie, who need the image
to be more than 6 months old and
want pink & girlie.
~~~~~T~~~~~

This card was for my hubby's birthday.
I love the sentiment, even though
these older Magnolia's have no mouths!
What is it about stamps that have no mouths?

I am entering it in the first challenge over
at Ribbon girl's blog
who want orange, black & white.
and Creative Inspirations
who want two or more images.

~~~~~T~~~~~
This is for a fellow witchy mate!
LOL
I found it when looking
for the above Magnolia stamps,
and although I am early for Halloween
I love this stamp!
My time to craft want kids on the card
and this young lass is trick or treating.
Allsorts who want you to use 3 or more punches
well I have used three different punches
for my leaves.
I love this time of year, the pretty colours
as the leaves change is just stunning.
~~~~~T~~~~~

My fave pixie dust digital download!
*My Edward*
sigh....

The card I entered over there won
their challenge last week!
Wooo hoooo!

~~~~~T~~~~~
This card was for my Hubby
for our Wedding Anniversary
which is tomorrow!!!
It is my take on the sketch at Cute card Thursday,
Papertake weekly want animals
and Crafty Pad who want embossing.
The wee sheep & bird is a crafty pad stamp.
~~~~~T~~~~~

Poppy has not been replaced,
Bella has taken to snuggling up with
a huge toy dog called Dudley.

He doesn't seem to mind the smell of wet dog!

Notes and Kisses

Monday already,
I am on leave from work for two weeks
and have little planed except
catching up on odd jobs.

And a wee bit of crafting!

The photo of this notebook is not
very good but it is in the post
so I can't take another one.

Another notebook as part
of a collection of stuff for a
Birthday Pressie.
It is my pal Sue's dog in the picture
I used online thingy again
to turn a photo into a sketch.

I also made ten note cards
using the same sketch picture.
They are all simple but slightly different.

And lastly a card for my hubby.
It is our 16th Wedding Anniversary this week.
Not your usual card,
but has quotes from my fave film Twilight.
The image is Pixie dust the same as
Edward from the notebook above.

I am entering it in two challenges.
Pixie dust want fur or feathers.
Secret Crafter say anything goes.

Talking about love......
How sweet are these two???

They really do love each other
as only sisters can.....

They fall out and bicker,
want the same toy at the same time
and yet ....
they can be so sweet together.

Hope you are grand.

Love teen xx
