pens, pots and naughty pups....

Well, I know it's been a while,
And to be honest, this new blogger layout is
driving me nuts!!!

Anyhooo.....
Two makes,
pen collection and some naughty pups!
Just my ususal!

I have returned to a creative writing group,
and decided to jazz up a plain kraft A4 folder.

One of the ladies who goes there loved my folder,
so I did one for her.

I really loved the black heat embossed
 powder on the purple vellum butterflies.

Question.....

How do you store your promarkers?

My latest way, is in small colour groups, in pots in a box.
Still not perfect but seems the best I have tried so far.

And lastly.....

I was downloading the camera my hubby normally uses....

And discovered this......

She has never done this before.....
Well not as far as I know!

Butter wouldn't melt.... *sigh*

Hope you are all grand,

three ladies

I never did get pictures on here
from the four days
of Girls Just Want To Have Fun.

But two of the "ladies" below were from
the third and fourth days I think.

The one on the square box with
the three bobbins with pink, green & blue
thread was made with the kit I bought on the day.

I have so many half finished projects in my room,
I am trying my best to get some of them finished.

Thank you to everyone who asked
how Miss Bella Boo was after
she hurt her paw.

As you can see she is all better,
and back to being as cheeky as ever!

Here she is, enjoying some luxury treats.

Not sure she is very keen on sharing....

But Poppy will not be one to miss out!

Hope you are grand,

What's on My Workdesk Wednesday

Crikey, Wednesday already.
So what's on my workdesk?
Well, I started off with a scrap
of paper, brown, cream, black and red
with butterflies on that I really liked....
I played around with a stamp set
using inks in similar colours....

Thought about making a card,
so coloured a sugar nellie girl,
but then realised there was
no cream in it and too much grey.

And so she ended up on the side
of an altered coffee creamer tin....

I am trying to colour the lid
with alcohol inks,
not sure if I am getting anywhere fast....

So it is now another work in progress...
*sigh*

Bella Boo is now almost mended.
Her paw is nicely healed,
and she is away for her first swim in
weeks to celebrate!

I put the dog bed outside while I hoovered
the living room......

And discovered this....

The other bundle of trouble
is in the dog house today.
She ran out the side gate
and spend twenty minutes
flirting with a handsome Alsatian.

Hope you are grand

sick as a dog

I made these hangers yesterday,
and had planned to go to
the craft shop and get some more
to make for pressies,
but woke up this morning
as sick as a dog!

So no more hangers to be made this week.

This one is painted with a base coat of
Anne Sloan chalk paint,
which is just a treat to use.

And this one,
is stained using Tim Holtz inks.
The ink ended up looking
green rather than the blue it is
if you use it on paper.
But I liked it anyway.

The main stamp under the sentiment
is a penny black that I found,
after it was long lost
in the midden
formally known as my craft area....

The idea is based on a project from the last
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun day,
which was so much fun.

well...
Hope you are all doing good this Monday xx

not to be sniffed at......

Started this afternoon clearing
up my craft room,
need to find the bed again for
9 year old niece to stay this weekend.

She is not that big,
so shouldn't need too big a space eh?

Anyway......
I ended up spending more time playing
with glue and inks.

I love/hate this frame.

It was part of a kit from
Girls Just Want To Have Fun day.

I used a fancy tissue to decoupage it.
I just loved the butterflies design.

The bit I really don't like
is the stickles I used round the inside edges.
It all smudged,

The wee eyes are the wrong colour
to match the metal hoops,
but I don't mind that so much.

I still haven't managed to figure
out how to watermark photo's,
adding to my to do list!

Anyway.......

How you doing ?

cheers!

A big thank you with
and even bigger thank you tag!

Since hubby started his new job,
and is no longer around to take
the girlie dogs on their afternoon
walk, we have started them with
a dog walker once a day.

Our usual fab dog walker
was going to be on holiday but her
friend would be able to fill in for her.

Then at weekend Miss Bella Boo
sliced a huge chunk of her pad off
on her back paw, cutting into an artery
and was a very poorly girl.

I did manage to swap shifts and days off
so that I was at home with her for the first week
but the following week, our relief dog walk
did us a huge favour!

Bella spent the day at her house,
including the morning sitting outside
a cafe, enjoying the fuss of everyone
as they came for coffee!!

So as a thank you,
a bottle of her favorite tipple
and a tag to decorate it!

The tag is huge, honest!
Its not just a tag and
a miniature of gin!

Base stamping is a pale brown
of memento ink, then darker brown
butterflies and some copper heat
embossed butterflies to finish.

The poorly pup,
who is now well on the mend!
Resting her leg on the first evening.

It's the sad wee face and big brown eyes
that get me every time!

Taking it easy.....

Now down to a smaller bandage,
but a nightmare keeping it clean and dry
in this awful weather.

The vets dress it twice a week,
I dress it usually twice in between
due to the dressing getting soaked,
muddy,
or just plain falling off!

We have now got five different doggy boots,
none of which fit properly
after the padding of the vets dressings!
So an empty IV bag does the trick!

Hope you are grand

pink feathers altered notebook

Hiya, how you doing ?
Hope you are managing to stay dry
with all this never ending rain.....

I have a real thing about altering notebooks right now.
Ever since we did some at the
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun days
with Kath, Anne & Debbi.

This one is a gift for someone very special.
The stamps are Hero Art's and I have loved
them since I first saw them at the
last GJWHF day in Perth.

The tag is also the book mark.

I love the sentiment, but I do wish
they didn't have the lines around the words.

The front cover.

So this must be the back.....
the wee made by Teen stamp
was made just for me
by the Beautiful Sammi.
( thank you chickie!)

I am nae sure about the letter B.
It was brown card that I heat
embossed with a pearl powder.

tags, tags and tags

Two posts in two days....
Let's see how long I can keep this up for!

I had a lovely day with friends today.
Pressies take with me for a new home
and a belated birthday gift.

Now you know I love brown bags
with home made goodies in them,
so this will be no surprise to you.

Boys gifts, so some chutneys and jams,
but also some ciders as well.

Andrew made me some carrott cakes
to put in as well, but they were still baking
as I took the photos.

I am not good with manly crafting,
but hope this was ok for Dan.

I didn't stamp the bags, as I doubt
the boys are gonna be that fussed about them!

And for my best mate Rob.....
who is older than me by a few months,
but is always gonna be older than me!

This tag was for another lovely mate,
not sure what is gonna
go in her brown bag as yet.

The last pic is of my puppy girls
who loved joining us for lunch outside
at Brodie Mill, neat Forres.
Lovely food, strange service at times.

They girlies were fairly well behaved....

And only needed distracting a few times!
You having a good weekend??

It's been a while......

As you can imagine, it has been difficult
adjusting to loosing my Mum.
It is true that you don't know
what you have till it's gone.
I haven't done much crafting lately,
have gone to a few craft days,
including two amazing GJWHF days.

But today, I want to share with you
a memory box I made for my Mum.

If you are on my Facebook
you will have seen this already.

There are a fair few photo's.

The lid.

The papers are layered on white card
stock that I inked using distressing inks.

I stamped the image too far up
so you don't see it very well once
the lid is on.

The lid, my favourite bit.

I was really struggling with this new blogger,
Thank goodness Pam told me how to
change it back to the old layout.

Anyway..... enough of my rambles,
how have you been ??

mum

Sorry I haven't been around very much.
My Mum was poorly,
and I have been spending a lot of time
with her and just not been in the mood
to do much crafting.
Sadly she died on Friday.

I just wanted to say thank you
for the beautiful cards I have received.

a piece of work

I fell in love with making canvas
pieces after doing one last year
at the first
Girls Just Wanna have fun
with Kath, Debbi & Anne.

The photos are again nae great,
as they say round here.

The first three here, were Christmas gifts.

This one was my Mother in Law, and very inspired
by the one we did at the girls day.

~~~~~T~~~~~
This one is made using various bits from our
niece Robyn and her new husband Paul's wedding.
Including the menu, invitation,
the seed packet all the ladies at the wedding
were given for favours,
and some raffia held the menu scrolled up.
The birds were used to decorate the
hall, there was a bird theme
the whole way through the wedding.
I edged them with inks,
added stitching and gems for eyes.
~~~~~T~~~~~

The next one is using photos
of a lovely friends wee girl.
What a beautiful wee honey she is too!

The last one,
is kinda personal to me.
It is representative to changes
in my life.

I really enjoyed making all of these.

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas.
Wishing you all many good things in 2012.
