Valentines Love xxx

Happy Valentines to you all!

This is the card I gave to
my Hubby !

It seems just about everyone wants
love or hearts on their cards this week.
so this fits challenges over at

Crafty Pad,
One Stop Challenge,
Totally Gorjuss,
Papertake weekly,
A spoonful of sugar
Creative Card Crew.

I have double checked and
I think none of the above
have a max entrys for one card.

Now........

my beloved Hubby made
these yummy shortbread
hearts for me!

The house smelled fantastic when I
came home from work!

a few pics
of the other girlies in my
hubby's life!

Poppy Dog....
who likes to snuggle
with her Dad!

Mind you.........
so does Bella Boo!

Who loves her Dad
soooooooooooooooooooooo much!

But she is really too big
to try and snuggle on the sofa
likes she wants to.

two hearts

I spent this afternoon sorting out my craft area
AGAIN!!!

I had various heaps of scraps and bits.
Now the large pieces are sorted by colour in a basket of poly pockets.

Smaller bits & patterned scraps I can use for tags/Moo's/ATC's in a smaller box.

I have gathered together stuff for my blog candy.
I have a bag of bits for my niece who likes to craft with bits and pieces.
And a bag with stuff I know my friend will use.

Then after all my tidying up.......I got a wee of crafting done.

So with it being Valentines Day....
I thought I would make a tag and a card
both with hearts on them.

This one is for the Sugar Bowl Challenge #4.
Who want you to use one piece of patterned paper only.

I love this paper. Don't know who makes it.
I used it the other day on another card, so I don't have much of it left.
I will need to go back to paper crafts and get another sheet or three.
I am not sure if the pink heart works with the green black & yellow,
but didn't think a green or yellow or black heart would look any better!

And for this weeks Tag Your It Challenge...... the Girls are looking for

Love and Romance

The swirlie bits are velvety fabric that I layered on shimmery black card.
And the red card also has a shimmer to it.
The beads on it came from a bar of soap from a gift set,
and the straight black ribbon came from another Xmas gift set wrapping!
So it applies for
I used sukra red glaze pen but smudged it a bit trying to add a second layer before it was dry.
I actually don't like the feel of velvet so didn't really enjoy working with this paper on the tag.

Although I did enjoy the tag and the end product.

Did you get something sweet from the one who loves you??

He loves me......

Happy Valentines Day to you !

Roses are from my beloved Hubby!

Thank you my lovely!
I love you xxxx

I made My Beloveds Valentines card using
one of photos I took of the roses he gave me.

Puppy Love?

Brodie is over while his Mum goes out for the evening.
Poppy is delighted, Brodie's mum brought raw hide bones for both doggies!!!
Only problem is Poppy wants the bit Brodie has,
Brodie wants the bit Poppy has,
and so it goes on...........and on.....and on...

It is actually doing Poppy the world of good!
Saying that.....as I type this, she is getting carried away & being a bit
too boisterous.
She has just nipped him as he was gnawing her foot!
He gives as good as he gets and always had the last nip!
She corners him and rugby tackles him!
He stands underneath her and bites her feet!

Sue, Brodie's mum has a new job in a new office,
so I altered this cube note holder for her.

I am not happy with the rub on paw prints.
I think I may have had them too long.
I used my usual tool to apply them, which normally dose the job.
But bits were well & truly stuck to the plastic,
No mater how many I tried they just didn't come off as cleanly as normal.
I settled for the best applied pieces for the holder.

This is from Poppy to Brodie for Valentines.

This was the last of my Valentines Ribbon & it had a crease in it,
Hope it smooths out straight.

And to Archie..who lives with Shirleyanne.

I forgot about the animal brads until I was finished Brodie's card!

friday things

It's been a busy week.
I am more tired back at work
than I thought I would be.
Have done no crafting all week till today.

This card is for a friends Birthday next week.
and is my entry in the Magnolia V's Stampavie
colour challenge.
They are looking for cocoa, sage, white and pink.
The green layering is not quite sage
but the leaves on the Elf are.

The masking effect was following a "How to...."
By Natalie on NG Cards.
Thank you Babes!

The leather effect cord on the tag
was from a tag on a bag of loose tea leaves !

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have layered up the made by stamp
that I got from the Lovely Sammi,
and used it on the back of all my cards.
This next card is also for a friends Birthday,
several of my friends have Birthdays this month.
It is being entered in Cute Card Thursday
who are looking for Metal items on your card.
It has sliver shimmery coloured card
in two pieces of layering.
A metal hanging embellishment.
And two cat themed metal brads,
& three pink metal brads on the cat's square.
It's my take on Janina's sketch at JCBC.
It has a bow on the sketch but
I wanted to use this hanging embellishment.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And lastly is a card for my Dad.
It's not his birthday till next month,
but I used a sketch from Sketch & Stash. #3
The stash is my Sugar Nellie stamp ~ Macbeth
and the new thing I used were distressing inks.
This is my first time using them to colour.
I need to practice a bit more with them.

Hope you have a lovely weekend.
love Tina xx

Crafty Ribbons,

Have you been to see what gorgeous ribbons
Crafty Ribbons sell???
I have bought some of their fab ribbons and also took
part in their First Ribbon Challenge.

VALENTINES

You were sent 10 free bundles of ribbons,
each bundle will contained metre lengths
of all the new ribbons.
In return for these ribbons you needed to
make two valentine cards from the ribbons.
The ribbons must be used to create the card
NOT just as a bow or a trim

The ribbons are beautiful & they are such great quality.

So here are my two cards,
and they are ready to be posted off tomorrow to
Crafty Ribbons.

This first one I used soft velvet ribbon
folded to make the frame.
Used double sided tape to hold it in place
and brads to fix it and look pretty!

The creamy backing paper has small flecks of pinky fibres.
And the love you heart button came with the ribbons,
along with some puffy silver and gold hearts,
some beaded strings and some other bits & bobs.

I used a thicker ribbon that has a gold tint to it folded it
and trimmed it to make a heart shape.
added more brads from my own stash.

I did think about stamping on the back ground,
but TBH the backing paper is very pretty close up
and the gold flecks in the heart are very pretty
when you see the card as it is.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My second card I love!!
I must admit I would like to keep this one for Andrew,
maybe I will make him a similar card.
I free hand cut out a heart,
then cut another one so i was left with a heart frame.
I wrapped a thiner beautiful ribbon that
has small white hearts on it.
and I love the frayed edges at the two points I cut.
The heart button came with the ribbons ,
and there was also a couple of white ones too.
I used silver thread to hand the button from the heart
and stuck it all down , slightly raised up
with silicon glue and the buttons swings around.
Again I have kept this card fairly simple.
I love the second ribbon with Be My Valentine on it.
The white card stock is slightly hammered.
And the base card is red shimmery card.
They are now offering Ribbons for their second Challenge
Love Chocolate!!!
day 13...
Day 13 of 2009!!
Thank you to Natalie who made up for laughing at me
telling how I was out in the storm in my nightie
picking up recycling in the middle of the night!!!!
This arrived for me today!
I used the mouse with the cake to make this wee card.
Its smaller than I normally make but used up the scrappy bits of
papermania SCRUMPTIOUS.
It is using Dawny P's sketch for Papertake weekly.
Arty Girlz want us to Button it....so it has buttons on.
And My Time to Craft say Mice and easy!
I need to have a look at paper piecing for the spoonful of sugar challenge.
Been a lovely slow relaxing day today.....
Talking of slow....
I was late posting this for Jen's Birthday the other week.
but the post office seem to be on a go slow just now too....
and it arrived at long last today!
I found this picture online years ago, can't remember where,
but if you look at the picture straight on it is a mountain range....
and side on it is
an adult and child! I love it !
Did you turn you head to the side to look?
No?
You are now though aren't you!!!
I responded to Crafty Ribbons challenge to use their new Valentines ribbons to make two valentines cards....I got a lovely load of ribbons to play with.
I didn't take a great picture.....and had already used some of the ribbons...
I was too busy planning what I was going to do with all the lovely ribbons!!
There was more buttons and puffed hearts to play with ,
but they are already stuck on a card!
I got my Valentines cards ready to post Pat who is collecting them for the children at Children's Hospital of Michigan.
But just looked at the photo and a metalic heart in the corner
has slipped and needs to be taken off and re-glued back down on the next card.
Thanks to Curt for posting about that.
Have you seen what blog candy he has on offer!
And go have a look at his fab photos!
Oh and I forgot ER was back for its last series.
I must admit....I used to love it but have going off it the
last few series for some reason.
It is time I think for them to call it quits.
But OMG I cried last night when I watched it!!
So sad. I know it only a programme.....BUT!!!!
Anyway...............
please read and pass on.
I was reading about two wonderful causes yesterday and today in friends blogs...
Firstly go and see Curts blog to read his post about a Valentines challenge and blog candy.
Curt says
"My post today is my contribution to Pat Adam's cause for the children at Children's Hospital of Michigan. Pat was given a very tall request by the administrator there. She asked if Pat could come up with 1,000 valentines for the kids to swap with each other and give to parents and staff. Yes, you read it correctly, 1,000. So I, along with a bunch of other stampers have committed to help with this huge request. So, today I will show you what I made to send. Stay tuned because I'm giving away some blog candy as well as several others if you choose to help with this worthy project."
The lovely Curt has made 24 cards!!!
7 beautiful designs.
Go and have a look and while you are there check out his beautiful photographs and his handsome doggies !
Information there about sending cards is all on the blog!
I have almost finished two to send to Pat, hope she gets them in time!
Secondly please go to my friend Gina's blog and read about her friend Steph.
Life is hard for many people and this is heartbreaking.
She is trying to help raise funds for a lady called Steph who has been told she has
around 5 Months to live and is desperate to try to prolong her life
by having special treatment in Germany that she can't receive in the UK.
I will go make a donation and have made this card to send to a friend of mine
who is also fighting cancer just now.
Be kinder than necessary,
for everyone you meet
is fighting some kind of battle!
