Black & Gold

So we have been looking for a new
Labrador puppy for a while now.
On Friday we found her!!!

Her name is Bella Boo.
She was 8 weeks old on Thursday.

It was not love at first sight from Poppy.....
she ignored her all the way home.

But a day later....
and we are best of mates!!!
We love playing in the garden.

Bella follows her big sister everywhere!

We love sleeping beside each other!

Bella loves sleeping or lying up with Dad.

Poppy loves sleeping in Bella's new bed.
And it is a squeeze but she gets in there!

She even sleeps beside Bella's crate during
the day & at night! It settles Bella quickly too.

Poppy keeps standing looking at Bella,
usually before slapping her,
or chasing her.
She is a big rough yet but Bella is
sticking up for herself and
can play like a big dog!

There was never a dull moment before
but I think it is double trouble now!!!

Happy Birthday Lori.

Tomorrow is our niece's Birthday and this is the card I have sent to her.

I looked at some challenges and one was lavender & lace
I wanted to use sugar nellie Leanne Ellies stamp as it looks very like Lori.

It was from a another stamp challenge but wanted to use lavender & lace,
so took my inspiration for that.

Thank you to all the emails & messages that you have
sent me asking how I was doing.
I am much better.
The tooth is much better now, & my back is almost there.

I have been tired at work this week but am on leave next week.
which is just as well as Brodie's Mum is away on a course
and he is coming to stay with us, so will have much with Poppy.

Hope you are all well.
Am away to go see what you have all been up to.

Much love Teen xxx

Monday makes

Monday is almost over....but it has been a good day.
Andrew was on a day off and I am on holiday this week from work.

Poppy had her monthly bath for her itchy skin....
it was actually needed today as she found a gang of labs on her walk,
ended up coming home covered in mud and dog slobbers!!
She stood to get blow dried......for only one side!!!
so is all fluffy on one side !

Did get three cards made today.

The photo's are rubbish,
the lighting is not great on them at all.

The first one was not ment to end up this shape,
but I am quiet pleased with it.
It is using one of Debbie's new Butterfly stamps from Crafty pad.
I do LOVE butterflies.

I am entering it for Cute Card Thursday's signs of spring,
it is green and yellow, spring time colours to me.
Not sure that Butterflies are spring time insects.
I used my water colour pencils and sukura glitter pens.
I blended the pencils with my pro marker blender pen.

I am not sure about the flowers I have picked TBH .
I might change the centre of one of them .

~~~~~~~~~~~
This one is my take on Dawny P's sketch
on Paper take Weekly.
Again I am using one of Debbie's Butterflies.
I have used my promarkers and sukura souffle pen.
The backing paper is one I got in a swap,
have no idea who makes this one.
I have put the vellum through the cuttlebug.
It is more pink and green but you can't see it too well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Lastly a Xmas card using my take on sketch #39
at Saturday Sketchers.
I did turn it upside down
so I could make the snowflakes in the sky.
The white one is a large snowflake stamped
on shrink plastic with white stayzon.
I applied it with a springy made from acetate.

Hope you are having a good start to a great week
much love

DT with Ice

I am a terrible DT'r!!
I got it into my head that my Crafty Muse card was due tomorrow,
and it was due.....yesterday!
Sorry Sammi!

Ok so here it is.
It's a nice and easy one this week....
We want you to use your favourite colour on a creation.
Now a lot of the time I say my fave colour is Purple.
But just now I think it is Green.
I wear a lot of green, in this bleak time of year
I can't wait till the new growth is showing back on the plants and trees.

Anyway, here is my card.

It is using Princess Amber holding a chain of stars,
I always see her in green, and with reddish hair,
an Irish Fairy Princess.

I was going to stamp some small stars on the green base card,
I have a slightly smaller star stamp than the one I used to emboss
olive green on the cream square.
I can not find that stamp in the chaos known as my crafting area!
Will add them on tomorrow.

Come on over and join us at Crafty Muse.
You can use any image you would like,
but we would be delighted if you use one of Sammi's images.

Also * If you would like to join us in a Guest Design spot please
put a GD in your comment this fortnight! :) *

The snow is almost gone,
but there is a lot of slush & the ice is slippy.

Poppy too ages to get this lump of ice out of a pot in the garden.

So she started off by licking the ice lump.....

Pushed it round the garden a bit....

Then lay down and started nibbling it!!!

And started chewing pieces off the side of it!!!!!

I must admit.....that makes me shiver !!!

Puppy Love?

Brodie is over while his Mum goes out for the evening.
Poppy is delighted, Brodie's mum brought raw hide bones for both doggies!!!
Only problem is Poppy wants the bit Brodie has,
Brodie wants the bit Poppy has,
and so it goes on...........and on.....and on...

It is actually doing Poppy the world of good!
Saying that.....as I type this, she is getting carried away & being a bit
too boisterous.
She has just nipped him as he was gnawing her foot!
He gives as good as he gets and always had the last nip!
She corners him and rugby tackles him!
He stands underneath her and bites her feet!

Sue, Brodie's mum has a new job in a new office,
so I altered this cube note holder for her.

I am not happy with the rub on paw prints.
I think I may have had them too long.
I used my usual tool to apply them, which normally dose the job.
But bits were well & truly stuck to the plastic,
No mater how many I tried they just didn't come off as cleanly as normal.
I settled for the best applied pieces for the holder.

This is from Poppy to Brodie for Valentines.

This was the last of my Valentines Ribbon & it had a crease in it,
Hope it smooths out straight.

And to Archie..who lives with Shirleyanne.

I forgot about the animal brads until I was finished Brodie's card!

sniffs & sneezes

Its snowing thick and fast here today,
and I am full of this blasted cold again!
I don't think it has ever completely gone away.

Anyway, here is a few cards
I have done over the last few days.

This one is one I started last week
following Mada's sketch on JCBC.
It is from a few weeks ago, so too late to enter it.

But I couldn't get round to doing it before
and it is such a pretty sketch I wanted to try it out.

The flower is made of heart stamps
that came free in a magazine.
I really like heart flowers just now!
The text is using my cuttle bug.
I will enter it on arty girlz challenge
Who are looking for " flowers"
Also One Stop Craft Challenge want circles.
The flower is on a circle base, the brads are circles
The button is round & there are wee circles
or dots on the hearts.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next one is also from JCBC sketches #18
is by my lovely friend Amanda who has loads of snow!!
It is ment to have a sentiment on it but I
didn't want to add the sentiment I made on the computer cause the person it is for reads my blog!!
I am not sure who sent me the pink cuttlebug card.
I layered it on silver mirror card.
The naughty or nice was also a swap & it is on pink mirror card.
I used silver ink pad to stamp wee
snowflakes on the shimmery card.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The last card is also a Christmas card.
Part of my plan to get a head start on Xmas cards this year. I have now a grand total of
.....................3!!!

This one is following a sketch by
Laura at 2 sketches 4 you!
They do the most beautiful sketches.

You know I am not that keen on FF bears.
I have real problems getting my shading right.
But I do love the backing papers you get from them,
and this is using one of their Xmas pads.

Andrew is doing much better.
Thank you for all your emails & messages asking how he was.

He is hobbling along, but has been seen by my lovely
therapist friend who did some treatment on him
and that has speeded up his recovery !

He did make our friend a beautiful Birthday cake

We hid it in the cupboard, it was very yummy.

It was all a bit too much for Poppy.
She had a lovely time with Brodie,
but wanted to snuggle in with him and have a sleep.

But he was too busy with a squeaky ball to sleep!

Every time she snuggled closer, he moved away!
He is coming round again this evening.
His mum is going out to a party
and he is having another play date with Poppy dog,
no point in picking up all those toys!

Stay warm!
Be back later with some photos we have taken .

Love Tina xx

cars & bikes

This is the only card I have made
since my wee production the other day.
Our neighbour passed her driving test.

I am entering it on the
House Mouse Monday Challenge
who are looking for a tall card.

We have still got a wee drop of snow.
Mostly, the problem is ice now.
It was -7 when I went to work this morning.
And -9'c when Andrew cycled home after his night shift.

Aye , you did read that right....he cycled home.
Not usually a problem.
We live near the RAF base he works on,
and it is quicker for him to cycle than drive.
For the first time ever...almost 20 years.....
he hit ice & came right off his bike!

He hss badly bruised his hip and leg.
A trip to the local surgery this afternoon
ended with some lovely pain killers from the GP.
My lovely therapist friend is coming to the house
tomorrow to give him a treatment.

My trip home from work started with my car
sliding on ice trying to get out of my parking space!
No damage done, but a bit scary!

I do like snow, but am not so keen on ice!

Stay safe & warm.

love tina x

puppy play date

Our friend was on an all day course so Poppy asked her
friend Brodie the Westie over for a play date.

Her first job was taking him upstairs to wake up Andrew!

Brodie knows his place,
on the foot stool higher than Poppy!

Puppy Love Kisses

Sharing toys...

Playing in the back garden

Time for a rest

Sleepy puppies

Poppy has slept since Brodie left.

Friday sorted.

well my work space is almost done being sorted,
I have found homes for almost everything,
and drawers have labeled.....I would show you a pic
but I have been working there, and I need to tidy it up now!!

I have been busy finishing off my "baby" Niece's 18th Birthday Card & tag.
Which is on Monday.
So will you show you then.

I had a look at some challenges today & will have a wee shot at a couple of them.
One that was a real challenge to me was Just Christmas & Birthday Cards #15 by Simone.
I had it all ready to stick down & discovered I had missed a bit !!
But here is my finished card.

The stamped sentiments are from Crafty individuals,
they are so crisp and just perfect for this.
The flower is vellum, paper and a button.
And the Girlie stamp is Sugar Nellie's Flower.

The house smells divine!
Andrew is busy making the first batch of marmalade of the year.

The young oranges are small and soft,
so Andrew dose a marmalade where you cook the whole fruit
and then blitz it all up.
He also makes me a few jars of bit less too!

Poppy is one the mend, but being a wee toad,
licking her paw at every opportunity!

The dressing is now off apart from at Night, and if we are out in the rain.
She is much happier in herself.

poor poppy.*edited*

The best-laid plans of mice and men,
often go awry....

or as Rabbie Burns once said...
The best laid schemes o' mice an' men Gang aft agley!

Anyway, today was going to be do a load of laundry
and then a relaxing afternoon of reflexology
or maybe get the ear candles done to ward off the last of my cold.

I haven't had a bad dose,
and the steam inhalations of lavender
has certainly done a good job of making me feel better.

But instead we ended up at the Vets.

Miss Poppy-dog has split her dew claw ( like your thumb nail)
right up to the quick and was bleeding everywhere!

She has had it cut right back,the vet warned us
it would hurt her and she might yelp and bleed a lot!

So we will do it on the count of three.....
1,2,3......nope she didn't bat an eye lid and did bleed
but not as much as Tilly did when she got her claw cut back.

She is all bandaged up and will have to wear her lampshade tonight
as she is very very good at getting bandages off!

She is feeling soooooooo sorry for her self,
and in the huff as I keep telling her to leave the bandage alone!

I have stack of cards to do but the moment I turn my back she is at the bandage,
and she wont settle anywhere except her bed in the kitchen.

Just as well Andrew is at home, he will keep an eye on her while I go to my appointment,
then I will be back before he goes out this afternoon.

The vet also wants Poppy to keep this dressing on till Monday!!

And to keep it dry!!
So she gave us the bag that used to contain fluids for a drip
but was out of date, so they empty fluids out and
keep bags for a make shift boot !!!
It makes a clip clop noise when she walks
and she tries to run on three paws and pull the bag off!!!
It is gonna be a long time till Monday!!!

manky poppy and sneaky peeps

Lots of people comment on how shiny Poppy's coat is.....
well not today people!!!

She has managed to get her porridge all over her head.....

and in the process of getting inside her bed cover and using it as a sleeping bag....
she ripped her folded duvet inside it and got the fluffy stuffing from it ....

EVERYWHERE!

You can tell she don't care!

Tomorrow is the next challenge on Crafty Pad ....
Have a wee sneaky peep...

Right, I need to go see what you have all been up to and get some stuff done in the garden!
