Sister, Sister x

It was my sisters birthday earlier this month.
I made a few bits and pieces for her.
This was a wee altered box, the first
one I have done, and I am not sure of the
end result but my sister loved it.

A beaded brooch.

My attempt of a shrink plastic keyring,
based on Kath's shown here.

Love is, is my sisters fave passage
and I have used this stamp
in various makes.

Simple earrings with glass cross beads.

The finished card,
inspiration from Tiets

I should have made another fold next the panel
the Fifty is on, the card was quite thick &
it didn't sit as flush as I would have liked.

The Love is stamp is used here again.

I am so behind on blogging.....again......
hope you are all well!

Summer Fizz ~ Crafty Ribbons Challenge #6

I am way behind in getting these posted to
The lovely folks at Crafty Ribbons
But I have at long last got them to the Post Office,
so here they are !

Crafty Ribbons
Summer Fizz Ribbon Challenge!

The ribbons were really bright and colourful!
TBH I found them quiet a challenge this time.
I don't usually use a lot of these colour combos,
but I really enjoyed it once I got into it.

I always try to use the ribbon as the main focus
or an inspiration for the colour scheme.

I used my fave huge daisy punch for this one,
picking the squares of bold colours out
of the ribbon to make the backing.
Using a square punch to cut out pearlised
card......and TBH
I am really not sure about this card at all.
It seemed like a plan at the time!
I have take it out of the bin several times.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This one uses on of the included Alpha Tags.
I used the bone tool to curl it up a bit .
The "Love, Laugh, Live" is on the tag.
I love the twisted cord in the paper
button centre....
I tried out my new cosmic shimmer mist
and managed to get more on my fingers
which now have a lovely orange stain ....
I used the beautiful thin yellow ribbon down
the red card, with yellow dragon fly brads,
red & yellow tiny brads in between.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This decorated can is taking inspiration
from a gift Amanda ~ Scotspanda
I used my fave daisy & butterfly ribbon
to decorate this small coffee mate tin.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And lastly.....a gift for Ali at crafty ribbons.
This bloom is like the blooms I made before
using my fave pumpkin ribbon that I adored
from previous crafty ribbon challenges.
So much so that Ali sent me most of a spool!
What a sweetie!
flowers of all sorts
This warm weather is....
dare I say this out loud?
Just a wee bit too warm for me!
Daily swims for Poppy down the river
with cooling swims are a must!
It's also a bit too hot in the spare room to craft.
Despite a fan going......
I managed this with some new stamps.
I also have been making use of my new
Martha Stewart doily punch.
But I am really disappointed in
how I have done the four corners.
Any tips?
I stamped onto patterned papers,
& layered them up on black card.
A wee flower button finished it off.
the inside is from a new set of stamps too.
I really like this sentiment.
I am loving my flower bloom brooches just now.
I have resisted using this beautiful piece
of ribbon for so long....sad I know.
But I love the colours, so decided to wear it.
It's not a great picture...there are narrow
strands of green behind it for leaves.
And two buttons for the centre.
Lastly....this flower never fails to amaze me.
It is a much more beautiful
deep purple than it looks here.
And the flowers are each the size of a side plate.
Hope you are all well.
much love Teen xx
In bloom
I wanted to keep this card quite simple
as I wanted this beautiful Ribbon
Ali sent me from Crafty Ribbons
as the main focus of the card.
Both the blooms actually come off
and have brooch fittings so can be worn!
I had thought about edging the card,
with stitching or distressing or dots.
But I like it just as it is.
The buttons are quite dark
I wanted the flowers to look a bit like sunflowers,
The ribbon is such a lush colour.
Thanks Ali!!
The smaller tag moves over
to reveal a See D stamp
That says ....
Don't think of it as getting older....
You're simply in full bloom!
Now ....Miss Poppy-dog
has only just discovered that she can reach
and see what's on the work tops!
Not something I encourage!!!
But as I was trying to take a good shot of the card
at the back door where the light is the best.....
She appeared......reminding me
Her tin of dog treats lives there!!!
*sigh*
I want to enter this card in a few challenges.....
firstly Poppicrafts who want you to use
narrow ribbon as the main focus of the card.
Secondly I want to enter it in Colour Create who want
orange, green & brown.
And lastly ABC want you to keep it simple...
Now.....as you know I have had problems
with this concrete mole digging in my garden.....
As Andrew reckons it cant be his Poppy doing it!!
well it is back!!!
And Poppy had nothing to do with it!!!
The pile og compost belonged to a plant
that used to live in a plant pot......
See if I catch that mole!!!
much love
flutterbyes
As you know I LOVE butterflies
so my new stamps from Debbie at Crafty Pad
are right up my street.
I am loving using the large butterfly on cards just now.
It is a diggie download that am using for my
DT work on Crafty Pad.
The papers are again Bo Bunny range.
Must get some more tomorrow.
The small butterfly is the large stamp on shrink plastic,
coloured using sukura pen & chalk inks.
I used a small shimmery bead on it's head.
You can remove it, as it is actually a brooch!!
I am entering it for Arty Girlz Challenge
who are also looking for Butterflies!
and in A spoonful of suagr challenge who are looking for
shape shifter cards.
Crafty Pad # 8
Wow!
we are on challenge #8 over at Crafty Pad!
This weeks Challenge is LURVE!!
So interpret this in any way you want.
You do not have to use the Faith stamps,
but we would be delighted if you would
and you will get your name entered
twice in our prize draw!
I used the Love heart stamps from
the Faith with Love stamps.
There are three hearts with beautiful detail on them. I love these hearts,
I have used them to make butterflies and flowers.
And I by stamping onto pink card I made a flower
and on pink felt I made a brooch!
Now I am told this 4 by 4 piece is a fat page.
I made the pink hearts into a flower
using silicon glue to raise it up.
Green ribbon makes the leaves.
A button and silver thread
makes the centre.
I started with a pink felt.
Stamped the heart four times in a flower shape.
I cut the whole flower out in one piece,
used pink thread & tiny pink metallic beads
to edge the hearts.
I then used one strand of
silver embroidery thread to stick the
criss cross inside the heart.
A button was sew on the centre with
the same silver thread, leaving long tails.
I added more tails by repeating this step
a couple of times.
I added two small heart shaped charms
with the same thread.
The next layer is pink netting material.
which i hacked into a flower type shape.
I sewed it on folding as I went
to give more shape.
I pulled threads around the edges.
I cut the leaf shape out
in one piece of green felt
This also hid all the messy stitching
on the pink netting.
A fastener is stitched onto the back
and I placed this on the card after
making two small holes with my crop o dile.
Hope you like this wee brooch.
It is my first attempt at a fat page
and this type of brooch.
Go have a wee look at my other D'teamies work!
love Tina xx
