New England Christmas

I really, really enjoyed the latest
Crafty Ribbon's Challenge
New England Christmas .

I loved this spotty ribbon,
and wasn't sure about pairing it
up with the green check paper,
but I loved the end card.

The stamp was finished off
with Crafty Ribbon buttons
for the boxed collection that
I played with in a previous challenge.

~~~~~T~~~~~
I loved the simpleness of this card.
Can you tell I love gingham papers??
Nesties to cut the white and checked paper,
with another crafty ribbon button on the bottom.
~~~~~T~~~~~

Taking the idea of the gingham xmas tree
made this card easy.
I adore the red "Merry Christmas" ribbon
used here for the sentiment.

Gingham hearts were punched out for the tree.

~~~~~T~~~~~
Last but not least.....
a tree decoration,
made all from ribbon.
The wide green base ribbon
was a delight to work with.
All bits sewn on were ribbons
from this challenge.
I dripped some ginger and orange
aromatherapy oils on it once stuffed,
and it was a tad strong,
so I put it aside for a few days
to calm down. LOL .
I am going to make some more
of these for my tree this year.
Can anyone advise me about watermarking
photo's of my cards online please?
One puppy to share today.
Our vet's nurse was telling us how
the staff at the practice use their
own dogs if blood is required
to transfuse dogs in need.
They have only one dog available at the
moment, and they can only donate
every three months if required.
They have only transfused
a few times in the last couple of years.
So I enquired more about it,
and my two fitted the criteria.
I was not sure how I would feel about
them donating at first, but if they needed
blood I would like to know that
someone would make it available for them.
On Sunday evening, John one of the vets
called to ask if I could bring one of them in.
A wee cocker spaniel was very poorly and needed blood.
So in I went with Bella, and even though she is only
just over 1 1/2 years old,
she was a wee star.
I was so very proud of her.
She was not at all scared,
and gave her unit with no fuss or anything.
Now she looks poorly here, But she really wasn't,
she was just sleepy, and had snuggled up with my mate.
She had her neck shaved to get access to the vein,
and the blood was cleaned away by Poppy the next day.
There is no bruise now or anything.
She was full of beans again the next day,
enjoyed a steak dinner, and will be having extra's
for a few days to get her back to full power!
Sadly,
the wee spaniel didn't make it.
But I have no regrets here,
I hope his owners will find small comfort
knowing that everything had been done
in an effort to help him.
SO.......that's all from here.....
best go cook more steak for Bella.....
and sort some left over chicken for Poppy,
who is allergic to beef.
Hope you are all grand.
Stay warm
hearts and flowers
It has been a funny crafty time for me today.....
I have one card I made here that ended up
nothing like the sketch I was following....
But I am going to enter it in
Scrapbook sisters challenge who want
flowers, ribbon and gems.
~~~~~T~~~~~

This one was meant to have a red & white
gingham heart on it, but the papers looked
awful with the red ribbon I wanted to use,
so it was replaced with this wee sugar nellie
I found in half coloured on my desk!

I also managed to tear the wee heart at the
edge of the white card I had punched.
But I still like this card.

Colour create challenge wanted Kraft/red with white or cream.

~~~~~T~~~~~
Lastly.....my friend Anita makes the most scrummy
cupcakes and gives them as gifts in fab boxes.
She asked me to make a tag before.
These are some more I made based on the
boxes Anita uses.
Pink and white roses,
red and white dots,
pink gingham,
and blue gingham.
I also bought her some
"Made by Anita" printed ribbon
from crafty ribbons.
Pixie Dust want tags this week!
Hope this finds you well.
Hapy Birthday Mop in Law xx
Today is my Mother in Law Birthday
or Mop as the family calls her.
This card is made using an idea of a card
at Kate's card class over at the House of Sugar.
The flower was stamped with blue and green ink
then embossed with clear fine detail powder.
I used the same inks on shrink plastic.
Challenges I am entering this card in ~
My Time to Craft ~ die cuts.
Truly Scrumptious say anything goes.
Got to end on a pic of
my fave brown eyed girls.
sleepy eyes more like it!
Hope you are all grand.
Much love
pups and birdies & WOYWW
Been a busy few days here....
Managed to get my button challenge
done for Crafty Ribbons.
I will show them to you when the
glue is all dried!
The earrings are naked, but threading them
meant they didnt stick to the earring posts.
(Don't look Kath!)
~~~~~T~~~~~

Right over to WOYWW.....

My Mum asked me to make
her a card for her neighbour who is
moving away.
I noticed after taking the photo
that one of the poor wee birdie's eye
has slipped!
I will get that fixed
before giving it to my Mum!

I have used this idea before,
but I love it for a new home card,
and I love my MS birdie punch.

~~~~~T~~~~~
This one is for my Dad's birthday.
My first attempt at a
double twisted easel card.
My time to craft are looking
for makes with Perfect pets on it...
Talking about my beautiful babies....
Bella as you know was spayed last week,
and she was really feeling sorry for
herself and whimpered and howled
the first night, so I took the mattress
off one of the spare beds and slept
downstairs with her....
Only when Andrew went to go upstairs
with Poppy to stop her cleaning
Bella's stitches.....she started howling
even worse!!!
So.....and you will only understand
if you are owned by a dog yourself....
We both ended up sleeping downstairs,
on mattress's.....
Much to Poppy's delight!!!
Bella is now feeling all better,
just a struggle to stop her jumping
and running around like the crazy
girl she is......
This is her keeping guard on mini scotch eggs
we made with quail's eggs our local farm sells!
Babes and Blooms
You know what it is like....
you make a few cards,
some you like....
and some not so much....
This one I do like.
Lady at work is very prompt with
keeping her filing up to date
and called the file fairy by
her co-workers.
She is also very fit.
So this was for her.....
This one I am very unsure of.
I have seen similar cards
with the paper cut into squares
and stuck in the pattern below.
The paper is Bo Bunny,
and more busy than I usually use,
But I think it looks sort of ok.
The flower is cut from Tim Holts die.
This one is using a down load called Stella
from Bugaboo, I love them!
Stella with a different hair colour!
LOL
Now for another couple of babes....
My wee brown eyed girls.
Bella managed to get into the
recycling box, where my Hubby
had put the empty sacks
the dog biscuits come in....
This took her about twenty minuets....
She also stole the plant from the table
and replanted it,
in several bits,
in a nice deep hole....
Bella is 6 months old,
and now just a wee bit taller
and longer than Poppy!
Am pretty tired today,
Andrew was on a night shift,
Poppy woofed at 1.30am
to let me know that she had scared
off the scary monster....
Bella woke me at 6am by poking Andrews
touch bedside lamp with her nose
and switching it on and off,
and on and off,
Like a disco!!!
*yawn*
Hope you are all well.
Crafty Ribbons # 17
First of all thank you for the emails
asking if I was ok.
I didn't mean to worry anyone.
I am doing not too bad,
been busy with stuff....
and lack of MOJO again.
Bad combo.
Anyway....
Here are my (late as usual )
Crafty Ribbons Challenge cards.
I loved this Swiss Dot organza Ribbons!
You get so many beautiful ribbons to play with,
if you haven't given this challenge a go,
you need to check out their web site,
today is also Freebie Friday.
Anyway.....here are my cards.
This one is made of a stampin up stamp
and punched out circles.
You can't see it but the black card has a
lovely texture on it.
I used different thickness's of foam
pads to give the circles different heights.
~~~~~T~~~~~

Next an altered CD using my fave new
Sugar Nellie stamp.

There are wee white dots on her tee shirt.

~~~~~T~~~~~
I usually find I have real favorites
when my bag of ribbons arrive,
but there was just sooooooo
many to choose from.
A wee gift tag, the heart on the
white card is enhanced with glitter
sukura pen.
~~~~~T~~~~~

This one is the one I like the best.
It is Magna Sugar Nellie stamp
that I love. I cut out the mistletoe
they are hugging below.

Well that's me....
I have more to show you,
but need to go & see what you have all
been up to!

Hope you are are well.

sniffles and scraps.

So after the whole getting ribbonsfrom
people's clothes at work the other day...
it seems like I have started something.
Loads of folks have heard about it,
and told other folk, and now,
I am getting wee bags, and envelopes
all stuffed with the ribbons from their clothes
delivered to my department!!
Crafting and recycling!
Two of my favorite all time things to do!

I have been full of the cold this week,
and ended up spending the day in bed yesterday
which delighted Bella-Boo who insisted on
being my hot water bottle !

~~~~~T~~~~~
I got two cards finished today.
This one looks awful in the photo,
in real life the ribbon matches
the papers and the greens
of the paper and card
all work well together....
I am entering it in ~
Anyone for Anya, who say anything goes this week.
Creative card crew - to die for.
ABC ~ you and me.
~~~~~T~~~~~

This card is for my Hubby.

I am entering it in a couple of challenges.

Allsorts want a heart on it.Oh Alice's
Sammi has done a lovely sketch...
then added a twist....
they want you to break the rules
and alter the sketch or do something
different with it.
Saturday Secret Crafter want aperture card.

I used chalk ink pads to colour the black card
after masking it off using post it notes.

~~~~~T~~~~~
Now, please do not get ready to call
Rolf on pet rescue....
I know what you are thinking,
that poor puppy Bella,
she has nothing to play withexcept a glove...
well she is just fine with that!
with her being our fourth dog,
and the other three not being destructive
we have 14 years worth of dog toys
lying around.....
she is sorting that out fast.
if it has a tag, clothes, ears, hands, noses
or if it is a toy to be honest
she is chewing them to bits.
Her teeth are bothering her just now,
hopefully we are almost there
with the puppy ones falling out.
As you can see,
she has a terrible life here with us!
the beads bit
My blog header has been a bit of a
trades description problem for a wee while.
Not been beading for some time now.
I must admit I go between various
crafty hobbies from time to time.
I do enjoy my card making,
and I always tend to wander back to it.
This card is for a few challenges.
Papertake weekly want stitching.
A spoonful of sugar want animals.
Penny Black, want paper patching
I am not sure if I should call this
paper patching so will maybe have another go.
But the beads came out to playthese last few weeks.
These are such sweet beads that you can get at
Sugar Nellies.
I got two sets for me and these two sets
are for gifts for a friends
who all ready have the bangleyou thread them on.
A few makes to share with you....
My fave make so far...
green ceramic beads on cord necklace.
this wee bangle.
And a cord /bead necklace.
Also in purple.
And red with back.
Some beaded wrap around bangles .
And to end,
my fellow crafter....
AKA Bella the destroyer...
who is shattered
after raiding my craft room,
tipping out the paper scraps bin,
running down stairs and out side
into the garden with
the loo roll in her mouth,that was attached to the
loo roll holder.....
and shredding most of the leaves
of my beautiful bay leaf tree!
With her big sister Poppy-dog.
and yes Bella always sticks her tongue out when
she sees food!
Bless!
fun in the sun
Warning!
Many photos ALERT!
My Crafty Ribbon Challenge Ribbons
for Fun in the Sun arrived
this morning!
So guess what I spent today doing!
This is them half way through me crafting
for WOYWW
It's a bit of a mess.....
And to be honest
not 100% tidy yet... Ooops.
I decided to make a holiday fund tin.
I can not remember if I have
sent the lovelies at Crafty Ribbons
an altered tin before.
I wanted to make a big sun
using my nesties and a punch
to make all the sun beams.
I coloured the backing paper
using small ink pads and smudging.
Was a fab messy job!
The small golden ribbon is also
from Crafty Ribbons and such a great match
the other ribbons.
These ribbons were out of my comfort zone
but I really enjoyed the challenge.
~~~~~~~~~~~

I took the image of the boat from the actual
ribbon and used card to make my boat.

I loved this ribbon,
had a real party feel about it.
I took all the colours of the
balloons on the ribbon.
Then cut out the balloons.

I used embroidery threads as strings.

Regulars here will notice I have used
a Forever Friends bear,
which I love on other peoples
card, but due to me colouring them
so they look like they have been
drunk while applying make up
by the trowel ......
I usually avoid them.

I used my chalks on the white shimmery
embossed card to highlight the words,
and inks to edge again.

Trying to photograph an easel card is
hard enough.....
but add in a bored Bella-Boo....

who loved to grab the camera strap....
