Last Monday in March

I can't believe it is almost April!
Where did March go to?
Been a busy and long day.
Was at work really early then
had the dentist this afternoon.
Root canal treatment.... YUCK
Face was quite swollen but is ok now,
and felt well enough to go to a lovely
Local Chinese Restaurant with DH for a meal.

Poppy's mate Brodie can round afterwards
for a wee play, she is now well & truly pooped!

And this is here, on the sofa she is not ment to be on.....

*sigh*

hope you are all well.

Should be cleaning but....

I am making the most of my day off
before going back to work tomorrow.
I have just about finished sorting my craft area out.
I can't find my tweezers...but did find
a few other bits I had lost.

Got a few cards done,
The lighting is not so great
but I hope the idea of what I was trying to do.

This one is an order for a workmate.
It's for a lassie they know who has
special needs, will be 21 & loves goldfish.

This is what I ended up with.
I tried it with papers on the front but
I think it looks better left plain.

The fishie is on a folded acetate strip
so sticks though the bowl.
And the 21 is flat on the pale blue
shimmery card inside.

The grass is stuck inside the card on the bowl.
The fishie is glittered, and a few glitter bubbles are
ment to look like they coming from its wee mouth.

I tried again with the fiskers shape cutter
to cut out a large circle shape.
But I still canny get it right.
I am entering it in the ABC Challenge
G for Glitter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now you know I am not good with these wee
Forever Friends bears.
I love what everyone else dose with them
But am rubbish at colouring them in.
So....left them plain on shimmery pearl card.
Used my sukura pen to colour the heart and Ribbon.
The black backing paper is a shimmery too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My last one is using up an image sent to me by Debbi
still haven't inked mine up yet...
was waiting till I got to Amanda's for a crafty day,
Didn't get there again yesterday.......
talk about jinxing it!

Not sure about this one.
I used my paper of the moment Bo Bunny,
turned it round so I could fit in the
text and the image.
It is to go to one of two folk, just not sure who yet.
The flowers & stems are coloured with sukura glaze.
I am entering it for One Stop Craft Challenge
who this wee want you to use bling on your card.

Right, am gonna go have some food,
then finish watching Lewis from last week
and then go do some more crafting!
I have two more bits to finish off
and a few ideas I want to tinker with.

have a lovely Sunday.

Craft Pad # 15

It's Spring time !!!

honest it is!
OK so we have had snow & rain &
the odd sleet shower!
but it is Spring time baby!
(Did you remember to put the clocks forward?!?!)
Anyhooo......

Over at Crafty Pad # 15
we are celebrating Spring!
We are looking for you to use
spring time colours
yellows, oranges, pinks, greens etc.

You can use any stamp you want but if
you want to be entered in the wee prize draw
then you need to use one of the
Crafty Pad stamps please.

So this week I have done two cards.
( can you tell I am off work on leave this week?)

Firstly.....
Here is Ted and the ball

I used my nesties to cut out the front of the card
and the ball is embossed yellow vellum .
( now I am singing they call me mellow yellow
each time I think yellow vellum ....
are you now too?)
Have also punched out green velum leaves.

The next card is more to do with new life
as in starting a new phase in life.

This is for my mate who is starting a new phase
and it is my first ever
Congratulations on your divorce card!
Now I am Happily Married,
and I am not taking divorce lightly,
but this is a good thing for my Mate.

And I hope she finds Happiness and Joy !

I am not sure that when the lovely Debbie
was designing these fab stamps
this is what she had in mind for Faith....

But just shows how versatile
these stamps are eh!!

Crafty Ribbons #4 Spring Time

I am so loving the Crafty Ribbon Challenges!
It has given me the chance to play with some beautiful Ribbons
and to use some colours
that I normally wouldn't go for!

This challenge is Spring Time
I so love the pale blue Butterfly one
you can see there!

they ask that in return for these lush
ribbons you send them two cards you
have made using the ribbons for that theme.

Anyway I have made three cards.....

I have used a button as the centre as Crafty Ribbons
sell buttons at Crafty Buttons too.

I have picked the colours out of the ribbon bow
for the flowers on this card.
I must admit the ribbons are wider
than what I normally use,
I love using thiner ribbons on my cards.
I have used a tiny piece of
orange Gingham in her hair.

This third card I have made using
a photo fron the Crafty Ribbons website.
It is flowers made from Ribbons.

I have really enjoyed using the
ribbon as the inspiration,
rather than making the card first and
then adding the ribbon as an embellishment.

I have also made a folded paper tag book.
I used chalk inks to burnish the mount board cover.

The colours of the papers inside are from the
flowers I cut out from the Ribbon.
Again I have used photo's from the website

including pictures from each
Ribbon Challenge so far
and a few extras I liked,
including the team at Crafty Ribbons.

I have left the tags blank so the
Crafty Ribbons Team can add some info themselves.

The daisy at the top of each tag is made from
a pearly vellum and a tiny yellow button.

I so LOVE the pumpkin orange ribbon on this!!!

I know this post contains a lot of photos
but I am so chuffed at not being last to complete
this challenge and they are in an envelope
ready to go into the post box!!!

the good, the bad and the downright naughty!

Yesterday was ment to be a crafty day with Amanda
but that's now going to be tomorrow!
I even got us some new Gorguss Girls to stamp with!
They are now availably to buy as single stamps.
They are still in their wrappers till tomorrow.
But I have had a wee colour in thanks to Debbi sending me some images!!!

I have had some beautiful cards and images sent to me by some lovely girlies.
Will get them photographed and blogged as soon as I can.

My Lap top is now home!!!
woooooooo hoooooooooooo
It has just been way too cold to sit at the PC upstairs for too long
so haven't been keeping up with you all!

And now the naughty..........
yes you guessed it....Miss Poppy-dog!

I have sat making my Lovely friends Briony & Charlie a baby card.
I bought the template, got the thick card,
cut it out and covered it in pretty pink baby papers.
Inked all the edges....left them to dry

I heard a chewing noise from behind me.
Poppy had pinched the letter B and was happily chewing away at the corner!!
When I roared at her......she just looked at me......
and then spat out the corner of the letter!

Andrew says she was trying to make the B into a P for Poppy!!!
he was on night shift and so Poppy goes into guard do duty!
And at 5 am she came upstairs with a packet of crisps
she had found downstairs and smacked me on the head with it!
She was hopeful for breakfast!!!
she so didn't get breakfast!

bunnies and dragon eggs~ crafty muse

Easter challenge

Well it's ALMOST Easter and over at
Crafty Muse we would like you to:

create an EASTER project :)

We have not had a freebie image for a while and so it's about time right ...
The only condition of you taking the image??
Please use it to enter our current challenge
(oh and please mention on your blog
where it came from)
so Hop on over to Crafty Muse
and pick up your freebie today!

I have used two of the free images on this card,
Angelique and Millie as bunnies on an egg hunt!
I used promarkers and glitter.
Am loving these soft pastel spring color just now.

And for my Friends Nan & Paul who celebrated Oestra
with the Spring Equinox last week
I used the Dragon download from Sammi
To make this card.

The base card is a cream leather effect
so I spritzed it with metallic paint
And hope it looks like dragon hide!

The green dragon's eggs are a
shimmery green pearl card.
I love the poem on it,
It sums up spring to me.

rainy days & puddles

I haven't been around much for a couple of reasons this last week or so,
thank you for all my emails asking where I have been!
I have just had this yucky cold again and then my laptop went and died on me.
I am lucky enough to have another computer in the house
but TBH I do most of my surfing while I am watching TV
downstairs in the evenings, and it's been a bit cold up here!

I am also finding that I am quite tired in the evenings after work,
and my evening class and one late shift a week
is seriously getting in the way of my crafting mojo!! LOL

I have managed to get a few bits done.
Have finsihed two Dt cards for Sammi for Crafty Muse
which will be shown here tomorrow.

Have started my Crafty Pad one for Sunday.
And started sorting my stuff to go see Amanda for some crafting on Thursday!!! woooooooohooooooooo

Here is a card for a lassie who is feeling a wee bit down in the dumps just now....

i am also entering it for this challenge at
Colour Create #8 as this week it is navy, turquoise & lime!
The image is Maggie and the sentiment is Hobby Art.
I have used distressing inks to colour it and am happier with how it is coming along!

here are two wee sneaky peakies of my crafty muse cards for tomorrow.....

This one might be more of a huge peek than a sneaky one!!!

Card class tonight and I am off all this week so I have plans to do some serious crafting .....

Much love

Crafty pad # 14 Mothers Day.

Over at Crafty Pad we are on Challenge 14 already!!!
This week we would like you to make a Card
for any female who is special to you
APART from your mum!
So a sister, Aunt, Gran, Friend.....

if you use any Crafty pad Stamp
you will be entered into the prize draw!

This week I have made a very special card.
For somone who is very special to me.
Briony

As I told you earlier on this week,
Two very special people
Briony & Charlie became parents!

It has been a long time coming,
and not an easy journey.
Harriet was born after a high risk pregnancy.
This is my card to her Mummy
who has taken her baby girl home
in times for Mothers Day!

The yellow centre shimmery card is the size of a cd,
the butterfly is my fave from Crafty Pads stamps.
The petals were embossed using my cuttle bug
And the embellishments are buttons, pearls & gems.

It says to Hattie's Mummy!

Today is never an easy day for me.
We have tried for almost 15 years to become parents.
But today. ....
I can't describe the joy that is in my heart for Briony & Charlie.
They have been such supportive friends to me and Andrew,
Through various events in all our lives.
We have known them for a long time now.
And they are like family to to me.

But today......I will be saying many thanks for the precious

Baby Harriet!

My love to all Mum's today,
to people who would love to be Mum's
to Mum's all ages who miss thier children.
And to children of all ages who miss thier Mum's.

Gift to Sammi & James

As you know Sammi, James and Brooke move away down south tomorrow.

They got married on Saturday, this is my Wedding Card to them.

The heart is from Sketching stampers that was kindly given to me by Teresa.
Thank you very much!

And as well as vouchers so they can get what they want when they are all moved into their new home.......I gave them this.

It matches in with their card.

I couldn't give it to them till after I printed off wedding photo.
I have added a tartan bow from their wedding cake and added it on to it.

Sammi's colour's were deep red and white.
That's her invitation behind the Sammi & James place cards.
I wrote them out for all the table settings at the meal,
and did two spare ones to put in here.

I am not so keen on the centre of the flowers but couldn't put the centres
I wanted in due to it being under glass.

I love this verse....not sure where I first found it.
I have used it a few times now.

Their wedding rings are platinum,
the small small hearts on the place cards &
on the invites are silver so the frame picks up on that.
The is 12 x 10 " from Asda!
I will get some more of these as they are a fine size for scrap pages.
I am not sure who makes the backing papers
but they are sliver with deep grey writing on it.

Happy Anniversary Mop & Pop

Today is Andrew's parents Wedding Anniversary
and him & his siblings call them Mop & Pop.

The images are Hamish & Maggie from Sugar Nellie.
And I think they have to be some of my fave stamps .

There are loads of new stamps coming out all the time
but I still come back to these guys time and time again.

This Kilted Hamish was one of my first ever Sugar Nellie.
Karen was telling em there are new one in the pipeline!
Woooooooooo Hooooooooooo!
The blue hearts paper was a free download,
can't think just now where from.
Ribbon was from Crafty Ribbons valentines Challenge.

And me....I am so fed up!
I thought I had the sniffles due to eating dairy last week,
I have a dairy intolerance.........but
this morning I have swollen face due to congested sinus
and another blinkin cold!!!!
Am not a happy bunny!

Am off back to bed.

take care xxx

Crafty Pad # 13

oooh I made the Crafty Pad number 13 challenge on Friday 13th !!!!

Anyhooooooooo!

This week it is a sketch challenge.
We want you to use one of Crafty Pad Stamps
and again there is a wee prize on offer!!
go look and see what my fellow DT girlies have done!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have used.....*sigh* ok, I know I have a problem ....
I am slightly over fond of these beautiful stamps...
But yes,
I have used my favourite Butterfly stamps with verse set again.
You see what happened was,
Debbie is going to be giving away free downloadable papers,
and I saw the orange one,
I rememebred I had foudn some orange vellum....
and thought.....
This is perfect for a butterfly!!!
The swirly lines behind the butterfly and text
are also a stamp from the butterfly set.
I did get a bit carried away with doodle lines on this one.
I added soem peel oss stickers of flowers
and teh sentiment is a peel off by Anita I think.
From their wedding peel offs.
I have added it using a piece of acetate
to make a springy thingy.....
Added X-cut vellum punched butterflies to the corners.
The yellow layering card is from Stampin Up.
I hope you come and join us over at crafty pad this week.
Sammi & James
I have had the amazing pleasure of knowing my
best mate Lynne's daughter Sammi
since she was a wee lassie and today....
today, I stood and watched with great pride as she became a wife!
Where did the years go to?
It seems just yesterday she was a sweet young girl
with lopsided bunches in her long hair...
and now she is all grown up!
A wife and fantastic Mummy to Beautiful Brooke & her wee baby bump.
Life has not always been easy for Sammi or Lynne.
We lost Sammi's sister Amy two years ago in a tragic car accident.
Sammi stood in the packed Church
& gave her darling sister the most heart felt emotional & amazing eulogy.
This amazing strong and inspirational young woman stood up spoke
with such love & strength that made us all so very proud!
Just two months later she held her beautiful newborn daughter
Brooke Amy in her arms,
a new mother herself but still supporting her grief struck family !
It has been a privilege to watch you grow up!
I am so lucky to have been part of your childhood!
You are someone I am now so very proud to call a friend.
I will be so sad to say goodbye as you move down to London this week.
Will miss you all very much.
Wishing you & James,
many years or love, luck, happiness & much Joy together!
Love you Sammi..!!!
house mouse man.
I am not sure about this card,
it is my male house mouse card.
I have used white core card stock that
I have buffed with a nail file.
I didn't plan to use pink on the cake....
but I think the card is still manly!
The dots and with love is a cuttle bug folder.
Am off to go finish my in laws anniversary card.
Be back soon.
Crafty Muse ~ change of seasons
Time for a new challenge over at Crafty Muse.
and seeing as we have just had a change of season
Spring or Autumn depending on which side of the world you live on
then we would like you to make a project based on that theme:
Change of Season
So since I am enjoying the start Spring this is what I made
using Angelique holding flowers.
I used the same design from card class on Tuesday.
The image matting overhangs the front page.
Papers are Bo Bunny which I love just now.
I love Spring, The promise of new life in nature.
The warmer weather.
It's all good baby!
card class makes.
I started back at card class on Tuesday,
and I am so glad to be back again.
I missed the ladies from there.
There something so nice about chatting, laughing and crafting together.
These ladies have become good friends too.
It is also lovely to try new types of cards and different craft techniques.
It can't be easy to come up with new ideas each week,
but they do!
I have used lots of ideas from there for lots of other cards at home.
This week it is was this card,
using papers I wouldn't have normally put together
but I love the effect!
I really need to be a bit more adventurous
with colours & papers more than I am.
How sweet is the matching notebook we covered!!!!
I made a few more, this one is for my mate who is an infection control nurse!
And for Nikki who's birthday it was yesterday.
And this one is in the post to a special friend.
