Friendship

I have several friends
who have Epilepsy.

Today is
National Epilepsy Awareness day.
So in honor of them
I wear purple.

This is my friend Craig and
his best Friend Cassie.

Today's card is purple and green.
and my Friendship is extended
to many people today.

Do not walk in front of me,
I may not follow.
Do not walk behind me,
I may not lead.
Walk beside me,
And be my friend.

Albert Camus.

sparkles and sympathy

It is cold and blustery here today
but still spring
so am happy with that!

Had to tidy the garden,
lots of chopping and cutting,
a trip to the recycling centre
with a trailer load of cuttings....

You know there is always
a Poppy involved.....

*sigh*

I did make sure I never left her
at the recycling centre !!!

~oooOooo~

I hate making sympathy cards,
but then who likes making them?

This one is for my lovely mate Rob.
I find male cards difficult anyway,
so make it a male sympathy card
and its a double whammy.

I was going to leave it just black & white
but since I saw a beautiful
black, white and splash of colour
sympathy card
on Curt's blog here....
I have been really taken with the idea.
(Go and check out his House mouse cards and
beautiful photography, and handsome doggies!)

~oooOooo~

Now....
you may or may not know but
I have a bit
of a Twilight Obsession....
Just a wee one!!!

And this card is made for a fellow
Team Cullen Lover.
The black hearts and red lips are stamps.
the Greeting Farm Edward
is meant to sparkle!
Cause the best Vamps do!!!
The white feathers need no explanation
if you are a fellow Obsessive!

Much love & Sparkles.

spring is in the air

I do love the fact warmer weather
is here at last, for how long....
who knows....

Spring is trying it's best to come.

Warmer walks,
green sprouting everywhere.

Poppy with a small stick
no matter what the weather.

It is a bit blurry,
but is it not easy to get a
Poppy action shot!

The garden is starting to show
signs of life life now too.
These Crocus bulbs always
remind me of someone I loved.
The make me smile when
I see them pop up every spring.

I used the purple and green as inspiration
for a wee card today.
The photo is not great
but the dark shimmery card card
is a dark bottle green
and quite pretty in real life!

iI am entering it for a couple of challenges
My time to craft want Lace this week.
Anyone For Anya want spring cards.
and ABC Challenge want Quotes.

I am not sure who wrote the quote,
I have looked it up online and
it seems to be a mix of a few quotes.
But it says what I need to card to say.

Greeting Farm seems to be
the stamps of the moment,
I like them!

Mother's Day

Happy Mothers Day !

A few Mothers Day cards
to show you today.
so lots of photos in this post.

This was an experiment.
I saw a similar kind of card in
one of my local craft shops
and wanted to give it a wee go.

The card is pink and brown
with butterfly from Crafty Pad stamped
in brown stayzon on card and acetate.

The swirlies are from a roller stamp from
SU again using stayzon which I must say
I ended up wearing more than the card did!.

For my Mother in Law.
The layered up poppy is
in pink card too.
I have just noticed I forgot to
apply the mother day day tab
to the front of the card.
Best go do that in a sec!

The handmade by you stamp was
again the one made just for my
by my lovely friend
Sammi!

This one is for my Sister from my Niece
who has been staying with me for
ten wonderful weeks while on
placement at a local health centre.
We take her back to Uni today.

The butterfly is SU
have no idea who the papers are by.

Going to miss my niece
has been lovely having her here.

Much love to everyone today.

For those celebrating today as a Mother
Enjoy the gift of your child no matter their age.

For those who are grieving as a mother,
my thoughts are with you everyday of the year.

For those who are grieving as a child
my heart aches for your loss.

For those who child is far away
I wish them a safe & speedy return.

For those of us who wish to be a mother
but have not yet been blessed...

I truly understand your emptiness.

Black & Red

Edit* I have only just realised how similar
this card is to one I saw on Curts page.
I loved how bold the black and white was.
Thank you for the inspiration Curt.

I loved this butterfly stamp!
it is one of a set from Crafty Pad.

I really enjoyed being a DT member last year
and the butterfly is one a few stamps
I the most on a regular basis.

I decided when making this card
for a girl friend that I would see what the
challenge was this week over at CP.
I haven't done any challenges
for a long while
It is charms....so i made a wee heart charm
into a wee key ring and added it on.
I wanted the person it is for to be able to
use the charm afterwards without
damaging the card by taking it off.
The white stamping is done on acetate
with white stayzon.

This next card is for a friend.

It is never easy making sympathy cards.
But I know that if someone
took time to make me one,
it would help me feel better.....

The poppy is papaermania stamped
onto red card and layered up with a brad.

I don't normal do stamping on the inside
but i have both remembrance stamp sets
and I love this little sweet stamp.

I am almost done with my acetate
card phase I think! LOL.

It is just a pain waiting for the ink to dry
and I am not always able to resist
temptation in touching it to check....

hence the smudges on it!

I used the bigger dog paw print on the back
and wee ones on the front....

I love these stamps.
Can't remember who makes them...

and last but not least....
after a two hour trek around the woods,

you end up with this...........

My Poppy Dog was resting for a short while
but normal service was resumed
rather quickly after this was taken!

have a great weekend
hugs and love

ooops a daisy.

One card today.
Acetate card, cute but wonky!
Bit like myself just now!

I stamped on acetate using
brown stayzon.

The daisy petal stamp was on cream card
using bronze brilliance.

I didn't notice how wonky the petals
were until I went back to
look at it after it dried!
And found it on the floor,
the button had moved over
and taken the petals with it!

Anyway.....
it is for my Niece to give the
staff at the Heath Centre
she has been on placement at
as a thank you card.

Isn't it funny how you don't notice
all the wonky mistakes
until you see the photograph...

The hand made by Tina stamp
was made just for me by my lovely
mate in Auz Sammi.

tug of war.

No cards to show you today,
I have actually made four
but they are for Sunday's post.
Two are pink and brown inspired
by my chocolate mallow and strawberry
wafer I had yesterday.....
It's never too cold for some good
local Italian ice cream!

I just wanted to say hello,
and keep my blogging going
now I am back around again.

Thank you for my comments
and emails telling me
what you have been up to,
where you have moved to,
new jobs,
and all your other news!!!

Have had lots of folk asking
about Miss Poppy-dog!

So here she is.....
Chicken tug of war with her new friend
Miss Yo-yo.

Sleeping after a play date,
the cushion fell on here,
and she moaned when we took it off!

And not a Poppy but...
I was clearing out my camera,
and found this....
took it a few weeks ago.....

not as cold this morning
but still had to scrap the car!
I was hoping it was Spring time!!!

Name Tags

I was wandering around blogs a while back..
I had missed Kath's Demo Visit to
my local craft shop in Elgin.
I recognised Kath's work
that was left in the shop as samples
and it was just stunning!

So I went for a look on Kath's blog
to see what other goodies
were on her blog.....
& to see what Buddy had been up to!

The Wall Decoration she had on that post
in the above link was
so pretty, and I remembered it
when I was thinking about making
my Niece a Birthday card.
It became more of a name tag
for her instead.
She loves pink and Butterflies.

I used the nestability thingys
to cut my shapes out.

See- D's to stamp on the bright pink card
with silver ink.
The bottom white card was smudged
with silver ink and edged in
bright pink ink.

The letters were cut out with cuttle kids dies.

I can't remember who makes the punch.
It is a favorite of mine just now.

Some pink beads and vellum flowers were
punched out with flower buttons to finish
them off....

Her sister and Brother now want
ones made for them.....

It is good to be back,
not sure how much I will be around.

Away to go see what you have
all been up to .

stuff and nonsense

I came back and said things were difficult...
which they were
and then I disappeared again.
I am not sure how much time
I will be spending here, as I still
am not crafting much at all.

I have missed you all though!

I am away to go to have a peek
at what you have all been up to,
but need to say, blogger is playing up,
i can get some blogs to open
but cant leave comments....
some things never change eh!

Made a few cards this week.
needs must.....

This one is for my niece.
The button cluster is a brooch.

I am sorry i didn't thank everyone
who sent me buttons.
It was all about the time things
went belly up here.

Not my usual style but I loved making this.
It is a thank you card for a dear friend.

An order for a friend...
I loved this card!

Sympathy cards are not easy,
I tired to keep this one simple.

This one brightened my day
after making the sympathy card.

Anyway, hope you guys are all fine.
