in a box

If I have scheduled this properly
then you should be seeing
my MIL's 70th Birthday card
and we should be enjoying her
Surprise Birthday Party!

First of all the box it comes in....
as you know my in-laws call my MIL~ MOP

The happy birthday strips are paper
from my the local craft shop
that I do my card classes in.

The flower is stamped leaves put through
a crinkle machine thingy...
( what do you call it? )

Inside it is a folded card,
with another leaf flower.

I will be making these again.

I do like this card, but it is a bit floppy!

Since it is a special Birthday I have put a poem
on the inside of the box.

Here is the whole set.

I am entering it in the creative card crew's
challenge for a shaped card.
much love

so lovin this stamp

Well that was quick!
I spent hours online looking for this
stamp after using it at card class on Tuesday.

By the power of ebay it arrived this morning!
I had used the stamp I borrowed from June
to stamp up a few images using different
colours & types of inks.

I did the triple embossing on a heart again
but used a glittery red powder which didn't
work as well, and I lost the deep red I wanted.
I used my distressing inks to colour.

This one is for a friend at work,
again I triple embossed,
yes,
you will be seeing this done a fair bit!
I do prefer the embossing with silver powder.
I used versamark to water mark the
blue card, which is SU .

I do love the detail in this stamp.

Too much is not always a good thing....
I spent ages colouring this distressing ink
and then added sukura pen....

This might just might just end up in the bin!

Be back later with a sneaky peak
of my DT cards.

one stamp two very different cards

I love card class.
Its a fab way to learn new techniques.
Try out new styles and new mediums.

I love this stamp the June took in,
it is beautiful!

And after several hours online searching

I FOUND IT!!!

We used the same stamp in two
very different ways.

Firstly we stamped it then watercoloured it,
then once it was dry we cut into sections.
Some did four pieces I did three.
Layered with with black card.
Then used low tack tap on the back
to hold in place uses twine to tie
together, applied double sided tape
on the back then removed low tack tape.
It looks really squint on this picture,
but looks ok in real life.
it is on green pearl card.
I have a sentiment to put down the
side but I want to add a name to it.

The next one is done using heat embossing.
The mount board heart is first covered with
versamark then silver embossing powder
and then using the heat gun it is melted.
you do this about three or four times,
then after inking up the stamp with
the versamark again & keeping it ready
we applied a coat of thick clear embossing
powder and stamped while hot.

The lines were embossed using the score board
thin strip of black card edged with silver pen
and a thin red ribbon was applied.

The black backing card had been stamped using
versamark so it had a watermark effect.

Two wee gems on the corners
add a touch of bling.

I am entering it for ABC this week
who want something metallic for M
I will use both these techniques again.
I forgot how much I like the
heat embossed stamping.

two four one!

It seems I have failed to keep Poppy amused!
Despite spending 6 hours with Brodie yesterday.

Not only have I been spending
too much time online....
I also had the cheek to do some crafting!
This bagalope started as an envelope
and is now containing images
for a fellow blogger.

I have two makes
for one person
that qualifys for 4 challenges!

I stamped it using my fave flower
from a See D collection.
I used versa fine in sepia.
The girls at Saturday Challenge are looking
for flowers this week.

Sizzex cut tages, stamped with same flower
but used gold ink on brown tag
and bronze and gold on the pearl card.

I am entering it at My Time to Craft
who want anything but a card!

The card to go with it has Tilda Witch on it.
I love this stamp.
It seems a Witch is not just for Halloween.

The spider and bats are peel offs.

The black card has a blue core.
My new spider webb embossing folder
was used and the paper was torn.
A black gem is in the centre.
It is also being entered in
A spoonful of sugar
who want touchy feely.
The embossing is touchy feeling and being
embossed means I can enter it in
Creative Card Crew Challenge.

The pink post it is to keep it a surprise!!!

This wee bat is stuck down with silicon glue
and a strip of acetate to make it stick out.

Tilda's dress is more grey than black as
I am still not great at colouring in black.

love Chocolate? 3rd post of the evening!!

These two cards are well over due!
They are my cards for
Crafty Ribbons Love Chocolate Ribbons challenge!

I am not so happy with my first one here.
I have not as much "chocolate loving" as I wanted!!
But I have used three of their ribbons on this card.

The big singel flower is made with two punches, ribbon and a brad.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This one I love!!!
I have used two different ribbons from the ones I was sent.
And first attempt at making a chocolate bar from funky foam!
I think I needed to press down a bit harder on the funky foam.
The squares are not as defined as I would like.
I am going to enter this one in the ABC challenge,
this week they want B for blue & Brown.
Now need to get them off in the post.
But if you fancy being in with a chance to try out
Crafty Ribbons Cupcake Ribbons in their new challenge
then have a wee lookie here!!!
Am away to go catch up with everyone.
