a piece of work

I fell in love with making canvas
pieces after doing one last year
at the first
Girls Just Wanna have fun
with Kath, Debbi & Anne.

The photos are again nae great,
as they say round here.

The first three here, were Christmas gifts.

This one was my Mother in Law, and very inspired
by the one we did at the girls day.

~~~~~T~~~~~
This one is made using various bits from our
niece Robyn and her new husband Paul's wedding.
Including the menu, invitation,
the seed packet all the ladies at the wedding
were given for favours,
and some raffia held the menu scrolled up.
The birds were used to decorate the
hall, there was a bird theme
the whole way through the wedding.
I edged them with inks,
added stitching and gems for eyes.
~~~~~T~~~~~

The next one is using photos
of a lovely friends wee girl.
What a beautiful wee honey she is too!

The last one,
is kinda personal to me.
It is representative to changes
in my life.

I really enjoyed making all of these.

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas.
Wishing you all many good things in 2012.

Naughty Fourty!

WOTWW!

This week, its a special WOYWW for me.....
I turned Naughty 40 today!

This is a sneaky peak of something I am pottering away with.

More of that when it is finished.
I think I might need to re-do the image,
I am not too happy with her colouring yet.

I have taken this week off work,
and was surprised, by this wonderful
red velvet cake from my work mates,
along with a beautiful card and
gift voucher for a comp therapy place!
Bliss!!

Just as the boss announced that we were not allowed
to light the candles, the fire alarm went off and
we all waited eagerly for firemen to appear!
Seems one of the ward had set the alarm off
by making toast.....AGAIN!
But no firemen for us!

So that was last week's cake....LOL.

This is today cake!
My Hubby made this for me,
using a new cook book from friend Anita,
who made the red velvet cake above!
How clever is he!?!

I got a wonderful surprise when I opened
this package from Kath & Buddy!
Not only was there a beautiful birthday card,
but there was an amazing altered box!

Please pop over to Kath's blog to see
more photo's of this work of art!

And inside the box,
LOTS and LOTS of goodies!!!

Link
Thank you so much!
It is just beautiful!

My girls were more impressed with doggy chocs
from the smooth Mr Buddy.
He is a really ladies dog !

Many hugs and kisses from me to you!

distressed or messed....so not sure

I adored the canvas we made at the
girls just wanna have fun day
with Kath, Anne & Debbi.

I got a few canvas frames to play with,
and this is my first attempt at one by myself.

I used Annie Sloan chalk paint,
this is cream, but I think I prefer the
whiter shade we used at the workshop.
Next time I think I will take the whiteness
away from the canvas.

The finished piece is made a
friend and it is her Dad
in the photo
when he was three.
I scanned it to make a birthday
card and had two spare copies
so had a wee play round with one.

Hope you are all grand

happy girls haven fun!

Happiness for me on Saturday
was spending the day crafting at the
"Girls just wanna have fun" day,
with Debbi, Anne & Kath.

Here are my makes.

Debbi's promarkers session.
A pen pot holder and a notebook covered.

We had the option to colour
the wee pearls, but as Debz said....
It was our notebook! !
LOL.

The second workshop for me
was the majestic grunge bag!

It was senciled and cotton shapes applied.

I have never done anything like this,
and bought two bags to try it at home.
I made the corners a bit more muddy
than I wanted but loved the end product.

And last but not least.
A Tim Holtz Home sweet home canvas.

If you get a chance to attend a day organised
by these three amazing ladies then jump at it!

Now my lovely happy girls.

Poppy is nearly always so serious!

And Bella.....
not so much so.....
she chewed my glasses on Saturday,
and a dog lead chewed through today.....

*sigh*
It is just a stage,
it is just a stage...........
