blog candy & awards.

check out these two ladies fab blog candy....
Carly & Claire

And thank you so much for the beautiful awards that I have got from a couple of ladies here xx

This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

I want to pass them on to anyone who visits me, and who would like to receive it with love!

loads done ......

but nothing to show for it!

We went out with my parents for Sunday Lunch
and then were too full to do much for most of the day!

Spend most of the evening gathering up all sorts of bits n pieces for posting tomorrow,
Have still not posted my thank you cards for my Birthday pressies!

I am so naughty! Sorry.

They are done but I had a few bits to finish to include in a couple of folks envelopes!
Have a carrier bag of stuff to take to post office tomorrow.

And I really do promise I will post up the beautiful cards received for my Birthday.

In the process of sorting I also collected all sorts for my niece's Christmas Craft box.
And making a note of things I need to do tomorrow and stuff I need to buy when shopping.

I did manage to make ONE ATC, but can't post it here till I know it has gone to it's new home.

I hope you are all warm & well.

Missing in action.....

Sorry I haven't been around,
am ok, thank you for all the emails asking if I was alright.
You are all wee honey pies!
And thank you for my pressies and cards that arrived in the post this week.
I promise I will post on here pictures of the beautiful cards you have all made!

{{{{{{{{{{HUGS }}}}}}}}}}

I do not know where the week has gone......
Tuesday card class was fab again, will add on photo's later on.

Wednesday had reflexology and then dog class in the evening......
I put Poppy in the car and after starting it discovered the headlight had blown.
It is so dark here now in the evenings
and it is a country road with no head lights most of the way.
I am ashamed to admit I am a real girl when it comes to car maintenance....
I had no idea how to change the bulb!

Andrew had just left for a night shift, neighbour's hubby was out and next door
didn't know how to do it either....but they was so kind and lent me their car to take
Poppy to her dog class.....the only thing was my car is a heavy diesel scenic
and their lovely wee car was a light petrol one....
so I was trying so hard not to over rev it!

I do not enjoy driving any one else's car.....but we got there. They saved the day!

Thursday....what did I do?
oh weekly blood test......and spent the rest of the day pottering around.

Friday took friend to hospital for a biopsy and it is at least 2 hours drive there and then back.
We did pop into paper mill shop while she was having test and lump removed.
And did a bit of Christmas shopping.

Was shattered today, managed to get a few things done.
But done very little crafting since Tuesday evening class.
I went round to Emma's and made a couple of beaded bits....
not showing here as they are pressies and wee noses might see!!!
My parents are coming tomorrow to take us out for lunch
so not sure I will get anything done then either....have a few bits to do still for Xmas.

hope you are all ok.
much love xxxx

PIF picking Poppy dog ( ~ 3rd post of today)

At long last..... as promised.....three winners of the "PIF if you want to candy!"

As selected by the Poppy monster!

So you need a few things to do it this was.....
no random selection generator here you know!

You need a Poppy -dog.

You write out everyone who commented name's on a bit of paper.
Then you show Poppy the bucket!

Then you need to get the bit of paper from her
before she tears it pieces !!!

First out of the bucket is...................

1)That says Joana

Next is

2) Mrs Elf .........Emma.......oh thats it!

FIX!! FIX!

you have been giving Poppy more bloody biscuits to bribe her!
I seen you whispering in her ear last time we were at your house!!!!

3)

Last but not least......Dawn.

Now the idea about PIF is you then pass something on
but I am leaving that up to you my dears,
you can if you want, but if not that is ok too!

Joana & Dawn ....I don't have your address's,
could you please email it to me tina@colliecairn.co.uk.

Emma.....I know where you live! I will send Poppy round with it tomorrow!!

Super model Poppy-dog

Last week, we took Poppy-dog to pets at home so she could get her shopping....
and each week she is behaving better and better!

She walks round the store on her lead right beside me.
She no longer tries to take stuff like raw hide bones off the shelf.
Or tries to pick toys up and take them home with her!

Anyway..........

when we were there we noticed they were doing Pet portraits and you could come back the following week and buy prints ( not cheep!) if you wanted them.

Poppy behaved like a wee star and this week we picked up 3 of the 4 prints.

But declined the huge Portrait which was very expensive! and TBH
was more like a mug shot you get done in the police station after you are fingerprinted!!!
She looked like a killer dog!!

And, also since she had been carrying her raw hide bone,
she also had a wee bit of frothy dog slobber on her lip!!!

She was so patient when we were waiting to get pictures,
a wee boy came over a spoke to her,
he patted her and spoke away to her,
and had a look at her ears and lifted her lip to see her teeth!
She is so gentle with kids she just stood there and let him.

Ok so she did lick his hands a few times.....but she is a Labrador!!

She was so well behaved, I was very proud of her!
She had a look at the bunnies and guinea pigs,
sniffed and wagged her tail, but was quiet calm about it.

I know I am biased......but she is my mini Labrador super model!

what a cr@p card!

Now Mrs Elfie said on comments she left on my blog warning me about the
fact she had made me a crap card, well.....

she did.....

Warning.....the following picture is of a crap card!

But to be fair she more than redeemed her self with my gift!!

This photo dose not do it credit!
The altered box is just amazing!
It is gold and purple, has beads and a witch ,tarot cards!

I love it!!!!

And inside!!!!

How fab is this!

Thanks babe! I do love you ....honest!!!

Not PIF'd yet

not able to do PIF draw tonight, having technical problems with camera and Labrador!
So if you want to enter leave me a comment in post below.....

*whistles* here Poppy, Poppy, Poppy!!!!

** Edit ** ~ PIF how I want to!

** Edit, due to Labrador misbehaving.....the draw will be done tomorrow,
so will leave this open until tomorrow.
thanks for all my cards and pressies...even the crap one from Emma ! lol

Am away to enjoy my cake that hubby bought me!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PIF , if you want to!
Now , correct me if I am wrong but after receiving this beautiful PIF from the lovely Linda,
I am then to make three packages and send it to the first three people who leave a comment on my blog, and then they send a package containing craft goodies to the first three who answer their PIF post.........
Well since Emma outed me, and yes it is my Birthday on Sunday......
So I will PIF how I want to!
Since not everyone is online all the time like me just now I will make it a lucky draw to pick the three people I will send the my PIF post to!
You can chose if you want to make thsi PIF and pass it on....or you can not pass it on....whatever.....
But the universe likes it if you play nice!!!!
I will leave this up till Sunday too.
(fingers crossed I have done that bit right so it stays at the top of my post!)
The three picked PIF'rs will be randomly selected by Labrador !
Oh come on,
I have seen you guys pick your winner by a child or cat on here!!!!
I will do it when Andrew is here...
he can catch her before she eats the paper with the name on it!!!!!
So I have three Sugar Nellie Stamps.....some ribbon and some 6x6 papers awaiting a new home........
So leave me a comment by Sunday if you would like one of the Maggie/Nellie stamps....
and just wondering, if you had the choice....would you pick
  • Fairy Maggie,
  • Magige with stick & accessories.
  • Winter Nellie
peek a boo
Decided after making one of the folded cards at class the other night
that I might be able to use it for another idea.
So I came up with this.......
And this the back of the card ......
the star was not part it it.....
But I will add one on now.
Cause the star is dangling inside.........
It is 3-D. they fold down on tabs, and pop up when you open it.
You can see a few scruffed marks where I moved the wise men.
But I am quiet please with this first attempt.
I am entering it in Lili of the Valley as it is four legged animal this week.
So it has a donkey and a few sheep.....you think that will do?
Oh by the way.....
Poppy wants to know why only a few folk have left a comment about
The Sugar Nellie Stamps needing a new home.
You don't have to PIF afterwards if you don't want to!
This way Emma will defiantly get what she wants!!!
Poppy & Blue !
Dog class last night .
Poppy-dog is in love with a handsome Border Collie called Blue.
He is only 18 months old so only a month older than Pops.
They were more settled yesterday evening's at dog class.......
which is much better than them capering and mucking about
like they have done for the last two Wednesdays since meeting each other!!!
They still like to snuggle and Blue nibbles her ear!
Then my darling lady like dog stands on his head!!!
Blue's owner said that he doesn't bother with other dogs ,
he avoids them and that is so not the case with him & Poppy-dog!
But now cuddle in and lie beside each other, with paws crossed!
Very sweet!
Its cute to see them interact, they are both spayed so no puppies will result in this frolicking!
Talking of cute.....this wee Fairy is Princess Amber another wee cutie drawn by Sammi.
I am entering it for ABC Challenge which this week is R is for Ribbon,
I love the butterfly ribbon, I got it in the craft shop I go to card class in. It is so pretty!
This one is a house mouse image that I got from Chrissie ! Thanks babes!
The house mouse blog's challenge this week is All about Christmas.
I am also entering it for Cute Card Thursday which this week is snow or snow flakes.
The snow flakes on the red card is done with gold ink and takes ages to dry.
I ended up with some smudges on the brown base card so added more smudges to it.
what happened there???
today has been a funny old day,
It started well enough.
I got this sweet card in the post from my mate Nikki, it is for my Birthday,
which thank you Elfy Emma , I wasn't really gonna mention!!!
Anyway, Nikki is new to card making and I love her card.
How nice is it to get something apart from bills in the post!!
Then I noticed I also got this!
I was moaning on about not being able to find my wee mousie stamped images
that Chrissie sent me, when she offered to sen me a few more! she is such a good friend!!
So along with this beautiful card ......
she had sent me these...................
Anyway, I then went and had some reflexology , which was pure bliss....
came home & decided to make a couple cards.
Did this.....
I wanted to make some with a nativity scene on it, I remembered about PC Crafters that Chrissie used and tried to download some from there.....
I am so rubbish with computer,
the lovely Heidi and I have been exchanging emails so I can open the downloaded file!!!
I have downloaded the wee ladybug browser....I can she her on my desktop......
Can I see the file.....
NOPE!!!!
That thudding I am hearing must be poor Heidi banging her head off the desk,,,,
shouting they are there!!! look right there!!!
*sigh* so the spare time I had and hope to craft in, I have nothing!!!
We are off to Poppy-dogs class tonight so I wont be able to finish looking for this download!!!
Chocolate & card class
Enjoyed another card class at Sally's shop tonight!
A lot of laughing and giggling!
First card involved a lot of folding and I love the end result.
I will use the idea of the folded 6' by 6' centre piece on other simpler cards.
I am also trying to figure out how to do a more complicated card with it.
not sure how easy it will be.
This tag card is for a lovely friend who is having a hard time just now,
the smaller tag is shrink plastic we used chalk inks on to match the card.
Just want to send a hug to her, and thought this was a sweet way to do it.
The smaller tag is shrink plastic.
We used chalk inks on it and sukura pen.
the verse reads
Hugging is healthy
it boosts your immunity.
Invigorates, comforts,
and reduces stress.
A hug is pure & organic,
low fat, naturally sweet,
fully returnable
and absolutely free !
I got home and the house smelt absolutely heavenly!
My hubby had made chocolate brownies with white chocolate chips in them!!
Very much not low fat but absolutely heavenly!
sshhhhhhh!!!
well since Andrew was sleeping off a night shift that ment I needed to stay quiet.
So no hovering or house work for me this morning.
Sp decided to put good use to some stamped images I had laying around after the clear up.
This one is for a spoonful of sugar who are looking for blooming marvelous and also for Arty girlz Challenge who want you to use a quote in your card this week.
I found some beautiful quotes by Helen Keller but this one seemed to fit the card.
" the best most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched
~ the must be felt with the heart. "
It is using one of Sammi's Angelique who is a wee sweetie.
This one is for My Time to Craft Challenge and they wanted a card from it's raining, it's pouring.
I forgot how much I loved this wee hedgehog from Hobby Arts.
And I used the same image stamped on shrink plastic.
It also managed to use up some of the huge amount of lemon gingham ribbon that I seem to have accumulated.
I love the new Sugar Nellie Soft Centre stamps and scardy cat Braveheart is just perfect for this Birthday Card.
I used the sketch #25 from Sktech Saturday Challenge for the layout.
It is not exactly how the sketch is as I had to move the paw print ribbon over a wee bit so you could see the pattern so the cat dose not sit on it as the sketch asked for...but I think it looks ok.
Last picture is a wonderful surprise I recieved in the post today from the lovely Linda!
Thank you very much ! You are so sweet !!!
Am off to card class in a bit ! Have a lovely evening xxx
come out little mousie!!!!
Been having a look at some of the challenges out there just now
and wanted a go at the house mouse one, this week being Christmas.
I know I have a couple of the stamped images that my lovely friend Chrissie
sent me a wee while ago.
CAN I FIND THEM!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
So I started a mass tidy up session. Cause I know I have put them somewhere safe!
I have even used some of the Santa one's she sent me at the same time.
This lead to me finding some half finished cards again and some images that needed colouring in.
This image was given to me by Elfy Emma.
I am entering it in the Secret Crafter's Saturday Challenge, this week it is as cute as a button.
Next a sketch challenge for 2 sketches for you this week by Laura.
I must admit I do prefer simpler sketches and some are quite complicated this week.
And I have given up on them. But this one I liked.
This one is for Magnolia V's Stampavie and they wanted you to tie it up,
but since this is for my nephew I didn't think he would like it to haven ribbon on it!
I used the same sketch for this card and did put ribbon it, and will use it for the Penny Black Challenge which this week is to be monochromatic but you can add one wee colour.
So I added a touch of yellow.
It is for my cousin, she has the dreaded lurgy that seems to be on the go.
Lastly this one is one stop challenge which is pretty petals and it is using Angelique by Sammi.
Come on now, go check out crafty muse and have go at her challenge , she has done her first one!
I will add a sentiment to it when I decide who I am giving it to.
Now I have a tidy craft area but no idea where the wee mousies are hiding........
*sigh*
Sometimes what you need
is just to laugh & laugh & laugh till your ribs ache!
Shirleyanne came round last night, we ate a hearty healthy meal,
and then sat and bleathered and cackled till our ribs were aching!
Just what I needed.
SO all my plans of making cards , just didn't happen at all.....
but that is so ok!
Friday happiness
Good day today, don't need to go back to physio for three weeks.
Elbow is improving so thats making life easier all round.
Had another go at two sketches that I liked the look of ,
but again just couldn't get into them.
So have gone for simple makes , but am happy with same.
I love this backing paper, I only have a few small bits left,
perfect for ATC or tag here.
I am entering it in the Tag you're it #33 this week green & red.
The wee Angels are Lulu & AJ dinkie dots stamped onto
shrink plastic shrink and coloured with promarkers.
The beautiful peace stamp is done with olive green powder and heat embossed.
I would like to find a dove stamp that fits in space, I have two but one is too big and one it too small. I even tried stamping big dove on shrink plastic but it was way too small when shrunk.
I know I have shown similar cards here but i do love these little robin peel offs.
Perfect for using up my small scraps of backing paper as they are small pre-cut cards.
Andrew is working a 12 hour day shift tomorrow, so apart from making a huge pan of Bolognese to freeze, I am planning a hoover, a quick dust , some crafting and then dinner here with a mate.
Them's the plans anyway!!!
Thursday, 13 November 2008
quick card and gave up in the end card!
ABC challenge is Q for quick cards.
You can take as long as you want colouring your image abut only twenty minuets to put it all together.
I sat one evening colouring in these wee robin peel offs and have similar candle peel offs.
I will use this idea for using up scraps of backing papers & bits of matting card.
I also have a pack of smaller square cards that are a bit small for doing too much on.
This will get me a real boost on catching up with the cards I still have to make.
I have tried for most of the evening to do the sketch on Just Christmas & Birthday Cards but with noooooooooooooo luck.
It is a beautiful sketch and I love the idea of making two cards at the same time using the same sketch.
Go have a try of this sketch and see how you do.
So this was the base of the sketch for the Xmas card and the image I was going to do.
But all I was getting was frustrated!
I love these Sugar Nellie Soft Centres. They are such a beautiful set of stamps.
