bits & pices

I have had a busy few days.
Got a few cards done, hope you don't
mind me posting them all at once.
I am entering several challenges with them too.

First one is a house mouse sketch card.
The papers are beautiful.
It was hard to cut the one with the text on it !
I used a glue pen to add some glamour dust
to the word love, it is going in the post
to some one special soon. x

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My pal Mairi has sadly lost her fantastic wee dog Ben
he was an important wee man to both Mairi
and her mum, so I made them matching cards.
I kept them simple and non fussy.
The black card has the same paw print stamped
on with versa mark.
I used silver embossing on one paw print only.
Inside I printed my message
which included this text.
It's hard when you loose a much loved
furry family member.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This card is made using Sammi's dove image
that she designed just for me for my Birthday!
How cool is that!!!

I am entering it in ABC challenge
who want it to be orderly.
So that means if you have one bit of ribbon
you must balance it with another one.
I am also entering it on A spoonful of sugar
who want a celebration card.
what better celebration than a marriage.

I love these pair of love birds!
I have layered them on black card
and put that on red paper I embossed.

My time to craft are looking for love & marriage
so thats just perfect for this card !

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As you know I am loving this flower stamp
very much just now, I am trying to make my
sister several cards with her fave Love is passage.
So I came up with this......
I stamped the flower using brown stazon,
coloured with distressing inks.
Used the same stayzon to stamp
the love is onto acetate.
Held it in place with brads.
The flowers are green vellum
with wee pearls in the centre.
I am entering it in Once stop challenge as effort
of a vintage card. Vintage is not my normal
at all, I am not sure it is vintage enough.
so that's me, a mixture of friendship, love,
sadness, and birthday wishes....
hope you are well.
Monday makes
Monday is almost over....but it has been a good day.
Andrew was on a day off and I am on holiday this week from work.
Poppy had her monthly bath for her itchy skin....
it was actually needed today as she found a gang of labs on her walk,
ended up coming home covered in mud and dog slobbers!!
She stood to get blow dried......for only one side!!!
so is all fluffy on one side !
Did get three cards made today.
The photo's are rubbish,
the lighting is not great on them at all.
The first one was not ment to end up this shape,
but I am quiet pleased with it.
It is using one of Debbie's new Butterfly stamps from Crafty pad.
I do LOVE butterflies.
I am entering it for Cute Card Thursday's signs of spring,
it is green and yellow, spring time colours to me.
Not sure that Butterflies are spring time insects.
I used my water colour pencils and sukura glitter pens.
I blended the pencils with my pro marker blender pen.
I am not sure about the flowers I have picked TBH .
I might change the centre of one of them .
~~~~~~~~~~~

This one is my take on Dawny P's sketch
on Paper take Weekly.
Again I am using one of Debbie's Butterflies.
I have used my promarkers and sukura souffle pen.

The backing paper is one I got in a swap,
have no idea who makes this one.
I have put the vellum through the cuttlebug.
It is more pink and green but you can't see it too well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lastly a Xmas card using my take on sketch #39
at Saturday Sketchers.
I did turn it upside down
so I could make the snowflakes in the sky.
The white one is a large snowflake stamped
on shrink plastic with white stayzon.
I applied it with a springy made from acetate.
Hope you are having a good start to a great week
much love
Tina xx
love Chocolate? 3rd post of the evening!!
These two cards are well over due!
They are my cards for
Crafty Ribbons Love Chocolate Ribbons challenge!
I am not so happy with my first one here.
I have not as much "chocolate loving" as I wanted!!
But I have used three of their ribbons on this card.
The big singel flower is made with two punches, ribbon and a brad.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This one I love!!!

I have used two different ribbons from the ones I was sent.
And first attempt at making a chocolate bar from funky foam!

I think I needed to press down a bit harder on the funky foam.
The squares are not as defined as I would like.
I am going to enter this one in the ABC challenge,
this week they want B for blue & Brown.
Now need to get them off in the post.

But if you fancy being in with a chance to try out
Crafty Ribbons Cupcake Ribbons in their new challenge
then have a wee lookie here!!!

Am away to go catch up with everyone.

recharge!

Been a busy and tiring week but its the weekend
and I am on annual leave next week so time to recharge
and get some fun stuff done!
These are a few cards from the last couple of days......

The first one is was an order from a lady at work.
She wanted a card and her request was for one that....

was funny,
for a man's 50th
he lays brick driveways....not sure why she told me this fact it didn't help!
he looks like Richard Fairbrass from Right Said Fred.
oh and he used to be a male stripper........

so this is what she got.....

She and all the other secretaries loved it!

Thank goodness!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Next is a card for a friends Birthday, that sat in my bag until today so will be really late on getting to her!
Not my usual colour combo but her fave, so that's why I did it!
It is my take on A spoonful of sugar's sketch by Debbie.
I turned it on its head so that Daisy was facing the right way.
And lastly is my take on Friday Sketcher challenge this week by Jacqueline
It is a request from someone else at work for her computer loving brother.
well thats me.....Brodie is on his way round to play with Poppy dog.
I have a few more cards to post but haven't sorted that post out yet!!!
spring & xmas
Two cards..........two seasons.....
This one is a spring theme card as asked for on Secret Crafter's Saturday Challenge
using Dawny P's Sketch on Paper take weekly,
which has a new challenge tomorrow
so I am getting this one done by the skin of my teeth!
I have used my alcohol inks again, getting a bit more used to them.
I am quiet please with how this turned out.
It is much better than my last attempt.
I think I put too much on the seems of her jeans.....
Any tips?
Still haven't read up on them , need to do that soon.
Don't have green ink yet, so used water colour pencils and a touch of sukura pens.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

From Spring To Xmas.

And I must say I am glad the snow, well more the ice
has almost gone here, I dont enjoy it when the roads are icey....

This sketch is another one By the Lovely Dawny P.....from Willow Sketchie....
But I didn't read the small print and you need to use one of the products from Willow Designs.
I did see the making sure it wasn't flat. Hedgie is on 3d pads
and just as I was gonna do the doodle bits ......
I saw the use one of our products bit.....POOP! And since I dont have any of their products yet it will just have to one I enjoyed making.
It is a beautiful sketch.

You are a a lovely sketcher Mrs Dawny P!!!
Anyway....My Time to Craft are going for Gold....and thats some thing I did get right!

I haven't put the text bit on yet, as I am gonna do that when I decide who will get it,
and I will leave that till never the time!!

I am trying to be more of a tidy crafter.....I really am!
With less time to craft now I am back to work,
I was hoping not to have to start off each crafting session
by clearing up my mess from the time before.

Not doing a great job but trying my best!!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend....
How did Monday come round so soon?!?!

Game old birdie

My Lovely Friend Jackie
is as you might say a game old bird!
She is 76 years young!

She is so young at heart and a dear friend to A & Me.
I had planned to make her a card
with a birdie on it
and put game old bird!
But instead, I ended up with this!
I heat embossed the heart with olive powder.

I am entering it in Papertake weekly
who want hearts and flowers.

And colour create a new colour challenge blog
are looking for brown, pink and green .

sent with love

This is a wallet with some stamped images for a swap with a lovely friend.
I need to get them in the post to someone on Monday.

It is also the only thing I have finished today!

It dose however fill requirements for a few challenges....
hopefully 6 of them!!!!

One stop Craft Challenge
are looking for buttons & bows.
Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge
are looking for an animal element.
My Time to Craft
are looking for A little bit of sunshine.
it is a lovely sunny yellow with some summery orange.
A spoonful of sugar is looking for
Love is in the air,
well as you can see this wee mouse is playing
he loves me, he loves me not with his flower.
Am I pushing my luck with that one?
It is made using the fab sketch on
Sketch & Stash.
The new stash on my card is the swirl stamps, the leaf stamps,
the beautiful yellow ribbon I layered
over pearl card so it showed up more against the yellow card.
The two different yellow brads are also new.
And lastly.....ABC Challenge are looking for
Y is for Yesteryear.
they wanted you to look out one of the first stamps you ever bought.
This Hobby Arts stamps were among the first.

I must admit, until I started using stamps at Sally's card class class.
I didn't like stamping at all, I was so bad at it.
And now I have used this stamp, I remember who fiddly it is to colour!
Probably one of the reasons it dosen't come out much!

This is the layering on the back.
It's my handmade stamp
that my lovely talented friend Sammi made me!!!

stuff

Am getting in to the swing of Andrew being on night shifts.
Not Poppy though, she can't understand
how she is not allowed in the bedroom while he is sleeping,
let alone chew and chomp on her nylon bone beside him!

She may have been my idea but she is his girl!
I am more strict with her.

She is watching a cat in the garden in this photo.....
cats are scary and not to go near!

Right....what did I get done today.

Well over at The Sugar Bowl #2 challenge they want things in three's.

"use three different design papers
and three different types of embellishments on your cards!
No more, no less.
(by types of embellishments we mean, buttons, brads, flowers, ribbons, beads, bling etc)

Also if you can use three suagr nellie stamps you get entrered in the prize draw twice!

So here we have Hamish, Maggie and Angus the dog with his bone.
So that's three stamps.

I used the blue spotty paper, and blue paper that looks like water
and then tartan backing paper on it.
My three types of embellishments are the ribbon, the flowers
and the brads in the flower centres.

The inside.

I enjoyed making this, am not sure who to send it to as I am up to date with my image swaps.
Including extra ones I promised folk.
So ....was thinking I might offer it and some ribbons as a wee blog candy.
One each of 20 different images including the new Leanne Ellis set of six,
and the trio on the front of the wallet.
Also my fave one just now, Daisy.

What I will do is offer it and some other stuff next month
when it will be one year since I started this blog.
My hits counter has gone belly up twice now,
so has been removed.

It also covers the ABC Challenge which is W for wallet!
I love their challenges, and love looking to see what
they are coming up with for this weeks letter!
Be interesting to see what they do next week for X.....

Next is my ATC covers a couple of challeges too...
This Thursday are looking for something with whiskers!
It is of course a house mouse. Thanks to Chrissy for this cute guy.

Over at House Mouse Monday Challenge they are looking for an ATC.
I am trying out mixed media.
The wee thingy on the end of the green cord is a leaf stamped onto shirnk plastic.
I embossed the green white core card using my birdie cuttle bug folder.
Then sanded it a wee bit and used gold ink and walnet distressing ink on it.

I have had skeleton leaves for a while but never knew what to do with them!

Is it too much for an ATC?

you all doing ok?
much love Teen xx

Tuesday do's

I must admit , the thought of making Xmas cards is really not something I want to do.

But when I seen Linda's sketch on Just Birthday and Christmas cards.....and I made this

I did think...
oh it will make a nice Xmas card, it is such a nice sketch....
& a card most weeks will mean less stress at Xmas this year.....
but nope I just couldn't do it!
Maybe tomorrow?
They are giving away Faith Looks Shy stamp from Crafty Pad......

Talking of which have you wondered over to check out our Challenge this week?

Go have a look !

Oh and here is a sneaky peek at next weeks which I have done and emailed...GO ME!!!

Over on Arty Girlz they want you to do anything but a card
& today the invites came in for our mates Daughters wedding ....she has grown up so fast!

It is a beautiful pull out invite and the wording is so sweet.

Love fills a lifetime
and a lifetime begins this hour
when the two of us
(inserts names)
begin a new life together.

So this is my thank you for my invite and yes we will be there ~ acceptance.
So not really a card!

Look what I got in the post today!
Well, what me and Poppy got in the post from the Fabulous Dawn!!

A beautiful altered CD, a 4 x 4, an ATC and a moo!!!
Thank you my dear!!!
They are beautiful!

To do and done

So after getting my craft room all tidied up
and cleared away Xmas stuff all into one place,
I thought I will have a wee look and see what the usual challenges are up to
and maybe get some inspiration for the cards I need for up coming Birthdays.

OH MAN!!! I am a little bit overwhelmed with how many I want to try
and how many I will get done!

I also need to get two image swap done, two wallet cards to pop them into.
I have a few Birthday cards to do.......
and two cards for a ribbon challenge I have entered.....

This is becoming a to do list.....

Here is what I have done in the last few days.....

First one is for Sketch Saturday #33
I love Brown and Blue together and I thought it was a bit plain at first
but I kinda like the simpleness.

This sketch from One Stop Craft Challenge
is going to be for my God Daughter's daughter
Brooke who is 2....man that makes me feel old!
It was to have buttons or brads on it.

Tilda is sitting on a 2 but i think I should have made it a bigger 2....ach well.
The Tilda stamp is fairly new to me, it was a gift from Natalie, which I haven't used much, she is ment to have wee holly leaves on her bunchies, but I trimmed them off.
I know she is holding a Christmas decoration....But she is so pretty!!!
The buttons were part of my Santa pressies and the stash is all the rest.
I love the daisy stamp on it, coloured with sukra.

The Penny Black Challenge is to use embossing which the pink background is.
I decided to use it to make the wallet for an image swap so that's why it has Trixi's name on it.

I think the image itself came from Natalie cheers babes!
It is made using the first sketch on Becky's new challenge blog Sketch and Stash Challenge
I didn't mean it to have so much pink on it, and the large flower was not the shade I wanted
but it was all I had. And it looks ok.

And last be no least.....at Tag your it they want you to show off your new Christmas goodies.
I got my new cuttle kids Penguin die, my hubby went to the Falklands almost 14 years ago.
We had not been married very long and he send me a penguin soft toy every month.....for 6 months. He came home two days before our first wedding anniversary!
So I made this for him!!

Xmas Pictures

Hope you all had a lovely time over the festive period.
We did!
We had a lovely time at home, first time since we got together 16 years ago,
just ourselves,
in our own house.

Just wanted to show you one of our favorite gifts, which we got from Emma Elfie

Poppy had great fun unwrapping her toy from Santa, so we re-wrapped it a few times for her!

In fact she helped us unwrap all our gifts too, and then played with the papers.

This is us snuggling on the sofa!

It was all too much for Poppy!

I have done no crafting this last few days.
I need to do my thank you cards, but have family coming to visit tomorrow,
but I did manage to get my DT cards done.
