Warning!
Long waffling post!
Long waffling post!
So at long last my poor tree which has sat naked in my living room for several day now
..................is at last decorated!
In the last few days I have seen lots of beautifully decorated trees both online & in friends houses. Some have matching decoration , handmade wooden or felt!
Beautiful black tree's or blue lights! Some of them have been just stunning!
My tree has a miss match of decs. But this is for a reason.
I take out the decorations each year and they remind me of a time or person who I have loved.
Here are just some of them....... in no particular order!
Next to me Peace Love & Joy Bauble, which I bought last year to celebrate the fact I was at 36 happy in my own skin and life, is a glass icicle that I made when Andrew bought me a day at a glass blowers in a charity auction! I had great fun that day!
This wee fairy was on a gift we got the only Xmas out beloved Niece Katie was alive. She died the following spring aged only 7 months. She had beautiful flame red hair.
The pink bag was given to me in by a friend who I worked with in the Hospice.
It was my dream job, I loved it, and it was the last place I worked as a nurse.
Ok back to my tree!
The pink star was given to my by my lovely mate Gill, along with a few other decs that are also on my tree, I met her a good few years ago and don't see her in person more than once every two to three years, I love her and her family to bits!
The same is to be said about the red dove that was hand made by my wonderful mate Briony!
And she sent me the pink fairy too!
I did think about saying to folk I swap gifts with at this time of year, if you are ever stuck for ideas, get me a tree dec, just one, one that reminds you of me...
I wonder what I would end up with!
she loved to chew things and wrapping paper was ripped to shreads!!!
The red and blue bauble below it says I love my dog! We also bought a doggy ornament for our beloved Tilly who also died the same year Gizmo did, in fact only 3 months apart.
I don't have it's picture. must have missed it on the tree!
She has the most beautiful wings and was given to me by Shelagh who is an Angel to me!
I don't actually put this fairy away after Yuletime, she sits on my book case.
Too pretty to go away!
So here you go, my tree.
Poppy-dog is very suspcious of this tree!
She scuttles past it and gives it a look of distrust!
I do love my tree!

Your tree is gorgeous and I love all your decorations...this is what christmas is really about...not your designer tree in matching colours....you had me in tears....so many special memories.
Hugs Kath
and you probably have damaged your blade...so new ones are probably a good idea.
Well this is a proper isnt it.
Full of meaning and memories, not matching, not for show - but what is in your heart. Its the best tree I have seen, thats for sure. Its full of the true maning of christmas. It did make me cry though. But like you said, it is to look back and smile and remember those who are very much loved.
Wishing you a truly wonderful christmas,
Hugs,

lol at Poppy :D I'm not sure what our Rottie would have thought of a tree. He either would have eaten it or run in fear :p

vanessa xx
You'll have something else to add to it very soon ;o)
This tree is fabulous Tina, and so much sentiment with it, i think its truly wonderful. I don't have any sentiment with my tree, which is a bit sad isn't it? Its lovely to have all those memories so prominent at this special time of year. Much love to you hun, big hugs Linda x
oooh your tree is lovely, even better that you have ornaments with meaning, so sweet =)
Lets hope Poppy doesn't decide to tear it down in disgust lol xxx
I love your tree too Tina - I have baubles and decs on my tree that remind us of places we have lived and of special people too. :) I think it is lovely to put them up every year. :)

The best kind of tree is one with memories - just like mine! My parents also have one with decorations we made as children at school or brownies!
Much better than "designer" trees that just look too perfect!
Beautiful - thanks for sharing!

That was so sweet of you to share those personal memories, sad ones, sweet ones, happy ones. . .they are all the memories of your life. And that tree in so many ways represents so many important things in your life. It made me think of something when you said it sat bare for several days. Almost like a metaphor of how we start off in life, bare . . . but then we get decorated with all these life experiences and memories. I loved this post! Thanks so much for sharing! Best, Curt
I loved this post when I read it the other day...So lovely. I don't have co-ordinated decorations either. Theye are not quite as personal as some of yours but they are all things that have ben gathered over time. Sadly I seem to have lost one the Cal made for me which is a little annoying.
What a fantastic tree and even more so becasue of the memories it holds for you. Thanks for sharing it all with us xxx
You made me smile and cry with this one. I didn't even put a tree up this year because we were away but I like the idea of a memory tree. I usually can't stand anything other than lights on my tree - I guess that says more about me than I thought! :o(
Love you and your tree xxx
