love is...

I decided instead of making Christmas cards for the folk at dog class ,
I would make some calenders using my favorite picture of Poppy and her boy dog Blue .

Over at One stop challenge, Paula is looking for something blue....
Will there is plenty blue on here, I have actuarially picked the worst calender to take a single shot of, the chalk ink was clogging up the stamp....
and I thought I had pulled out all the splodgie ones...
The stamped paw prints look like blobs on this one!

Oh poppys boy dog is also called Blue!!! LOL

So it kinda grew from there......
I need to get a couple more calender tabs to finish two off here.

This is my take on Marskia's challenge at Sketch Saturday.
It will also get a calander tag hung from the bottom of it when I get some more tomorrow.
I have done a wee bot of wire twisting on the buttons.
Love this effect.
Have doen a fair bit of bead work for Yule gifts today, bay can't show them just yet.

Yesterday my friends Shelia & Bruce got married down south.
this card was made using Laura's sketch at 2sketches 4 you.

I am not sure about the two rings on it, but needed something to keep it to the design.
The green is the colour of her bridesmaids dresses.
The lace if actually some I had left over from my wedding dress.....14 years ago!
Sectret Crafter's Saturday Challenge is to use some embossing , heat or dry.
The doves were done using my cuttle bug and are both embossed.

I need to get few more bits done for yule gifts tomorrow and then see where we are on the Yule cards.....
stressed.....no ....NOT YET!!!! LOL

have a good week ! xxx

2 cards, 5 challenges.

Have managed to make two cards this evening,
while my hubby makes a lovely supper.

I am enter both of them for a couple of different challenges,
this one is Poppy dog with a bonnie pink ribbon and a thank you charm hanging from it.
It moves when you pick up the card.

The first challenge is for Cute Card Thursday #39 this week being hearts.
ABC Challenge is T for three.
So here we have three colours on the card, cream, pink & white. Three hearts, using three different patterns of card, and three brads.

The weeks Challenge on This Thursday is Mistletoe and wine using either images or their colours. So I have gone for green and white of mistletoe and red for wine.
It is using my new Tilda stamp. I love her fancy shoes!!

A spoonfull of sugar is THANK YOU Cards.
So either card will do nicely thank you very much!

Paper take weekly is giving you a recipe to use on the card,

1 ribbon
2 rectangles and
3 small, round embellishments (zooms, eyelets, brads, buttons, gems etc!)

so yeaup.....one ribbon, and two rectangles a cream and a green one.....and three buttons.
I used some wire on the buttons and some fake pearls on the white button.

PIF got there. & chester sale!

So I got round to posting PIF and it has reached the girls safe & sound.
So can post the cards I sent with it on here now.
I didn't put printer at photo paper setting so they came out a touch dull.....

Photo paper also didn't come out well when photographed on the card.
The pictures are of Poppy picking the PIF.

This card was made at the same time.
It is for my mates new Cuban husband Zal who is a lovely honey!

We have second last dog class of the year this evening.......
am working on calenders with my fave picture of Poppy and her boyfriend Blue the collie ,
have a few made but will post once they are all done!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last but not least, if you live near Chester in the UK ,
check out Dawny P post about a craft sale!
Dawn says.....
"Basically what has happened is that a young girl was selling some new craft stuff at a local car boot sale that my friend went to. My friend asked this girl if she had any more and she said she had loads. Her mum had suffered from agoraphobia and had been into making cards and spent a lot of her time (and money) ordering stuff from QVC.
Sadly the girl’s mum died just over a year ago and this poor kid has been trying to sort it. We went to see it and help sort it all out for her cos she is not into crafting and doesn't know what half the stuff is, let alone how much she should ask for it. There is just so much stuff and an awful lot of it had not even been opened. To give you an idea, there is over £10ks worth, I kid you not.
So this Saturday, there is going to be a sale at Saughall Methodist Church Hall from 12 – 2 and it all must go, so it is going to be silly prices, ie generally at least half price for most of the stuff.
This is NEW stuff girls, not second hand and there is everything you could imagine there, including items which would make nice presents. So if you are not too far away, I really think you would find it worth your while to come over.
If anyone wants direction, please let me know - dawnyp123@hotmail.co.uk
Also, could I ask a HUGE favour and ask as many of you to spread the word if you can, cos there will be people who read your blogs that don't visit here and they just might live close enought to come or may know someone who is.
I really want to help this kid cos it brought it home to me what would happen to my stash when I go to the great craft workshop in the sky. I would hate anyone to take advantage of my kids and just want to make sure that the same doesn't happen to this girl.
Thank you so much for reading this and for any links you put up - I really appreciate it"
Thanks for reading this my lovely friends xxxx
Dogs life ( 2nd post)
It's been a beautiful day here today, cold but beautiful.
As you can see Poppy loves the snow.....
she became deaf when I was shouting her to come in....
This card my take on a One Stop Sketch Challenge this week by Nikki
you can't really see it on the photo but there is a wee touch of glitter on the tree.
The photo is one I took last year down the woods we take Poppy-dog.
This card is for Arty Girlz Challenge this week they want frames....
I used a wee picture of Poppy in it and punched out tiny snow flakes from light grey shiny vellum, using a wee trio of punches I got from a supermarket for 97p for all three!!!
This next picture was taken in our garden tonight,
I have bought a dog whistle to try and improve Poppy's refusal to come back
when we let her off the lead down the woods....
SO I blew the whistle a few times and gave her a bickie each time she came running to me,
I found her outside....looks like she was waiting for me to whistle her again!
She loves this new game....lets see if it works when we are on our walks!!
Poppy is tired this evening, snuggled under my fleece with me on the sofa.
It's really cold this evening.....and I am not sure if I am coming down with something again,
so we stayed in and kept cozy.
I told her today her mum and dad and litter mates who are all gun dogs live in kennels....outside Kennels!!!!
well....she just sighed and went to sleep!!
It is a dogs life after all!
