things that make me smile

I am not a materialist person, but I am extremely sentimental.
I have various things round about me that make me smile.
Make me content and happy to see.
Obviously this includes Andrew & Poppy la Pooh,
and Photo's I love photo's I have them everywhere!
but as far as items go.....
I have a few unusual things that no one else would find that important.
In no particular order! And not an complete list, by any means!

This Scottish pound note in a frame causes much curiosity to visitors to my home.
Its found in my bathroom. It was printed the year Andrew and I met in 1992.
It reminds me when we have times where money is tight,
which it often is since I left nursing..that we have been through
tough times and still have each other, and thats priceless!

My two hoggies were made for me by my lovely mate Rob who I have known since I was 11!
And I love him to bits!
I used to collect hedgehog things years ago and he made me these wee fella's in art class at school!
They have moved home many times in many towns and always make me smile when U see them, They now live on the shelf above my craft desk!

My crystals. I have some in every room.
I
carry one in my purse & often wear them in my bra, can I suggest smooth ones for this !

And the last thing on my list is my wee chicken who is a penguin in disguise, from Wallace & Gromit film fame. He looks after my wedding rings when I am busy crafting.

I have damaged a few bits but scratching them with them a few times!

And obviously my wedding rings....I love them, I love being married.
Even though he drives me mad and I bet I do him too a lot of the times!

my impression of Monets Garden

The lovely Chrissie has posted a Friday's fable...and I know it's almost Sunday....
but here is what I ended up with.....

I am really pleased with the result.
The stamp was from the lovely Emma, and the backing card was
smudged with the chalk inks I am very taken with at the moment!
The strip along the side the flowers are attached to what was an experiment
I did with water colours a while back.
I was saving it for a rainy day.
The card it is on has a lovely feel to its texture.
Oh and it was smudged with a touch of purple chalk ink.

It was certainly a rainy day yesterday!

It's been a good day today, and I have needed that.

It started with a cuddle from Poppy.....

I bought some uber healthy food from the hippy shop.
And a few beautiful crystals....

The new piece's of amethyst are sooooo pretty.
I have several bits already but was drawn to a few more bits.

A late lunch down near Findhorn Bay with a friend.
Then we watched video & laughed with so hard it hurt my ribs!

And then a nice bit of crafting time...

All that is a day that is good for the soul!

blog candy

there is some fantastic blog candy on offer just now!
Andrea & Frances has some of them.

I need to sort out a list of blog candy....
but am away to play in the hippy shop!
crystals and candles and all sorts!

woooooooooooo hooooooooooo!

Rainbow coloured Rambles

song to sing as reading this post......
red and yellow and pink and green,
orange, and purple and blooooooooooooooooooooooue
I can sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow
sing a rainbow too.

It's been a funny day.
I had been thinking all day about colours and feelings,
and I was thinking about this on the way to work when I saw the most beautiful rainbow.
It has rained on and off all day but the rainbow was so fantastic, and to be honest,
I kinda like rain now and again.

Red was the colour of my face when I stopped and reaslised EVERY was quiet and listening to me singing the same line over and over .....of ....the....erm....muppet theme!
Yellow is the colour of the sheets we use to show if we have all the notes or have missing notes from clinic we had prepped for......my work mate who is not the brightest star asked.....how do you make the photo coppier make them yellow.......errr ....we use yellow paper.......!
Pink the colour of the face of the "woman" who bullied a few memebrs of staff the other day, when she came in ranting that some one had reported her.....
and I stood up and said, it was me....
she went so pink and then mumbled "well. erm....ahhh...."
and I said "I think what you are meaning to say is, you are sorry , it wont happen again!" she was pink !
Green. is me...I am trying to get sorted and be more oganised in being eco friendly. I used to be the anoying person who held up the que in the supermarket while I packed my own bags, long beofre it was trendy to do so, and today I again was using carrier bags when I had been too unorganised to rememebr to take them with me.....making note to see,,,,,,get yourslef sorted!
Orange was the colour of my healthy snack, melon and orange ....and my trouser are getting loose.....woooo hoooo!
how is weight so easy to put on? and is blinking hard to get off again?
Purple well I am just a purple loving girlie, what can I say......
Blue is the colour of the air when the "lady" from yesterday cam eto the dept for her card,,,,,
oh yes she thought it was pretty, and aye , it would do, now do you have a new job card in the box? I didnt think so,I could make her one ?
( did I not say I was never gonna make this women any more cards? )
NO.
She needed it for today.
I had some nice ones and congratulations peel off , would they be any use?
yes they would do.......did I have any peel off's with the person's name on it?
NO......

But there you go.....

Are you still singing the song.....

Acutually, there is one more colour.

As I was walking through the hospital to come home,
I bumped into a friend of mine who i haven't seen in about 18 months.

We said hello, chatted about her grand kids and my hubby and the adoption....
and then I asked her what round of chemo she was on.
She looked so ill.
round three of chemo, but not working chemo.
Gonna try and new chemo.
what if this has no effect either chemo.
I hugged her, and this made her cry.
crying is a good thing, I am not sure her daughter aggrees with me......

I am gonna make her a wee pack of notelets and need to see
if I can find a stamp with someone hugging a friend on it to put on the pack.
Will post it , with a note saying if you need me.....just shout.

I do realise I have rambled on and on...
but today I am thankful that my colourful day was a good one,
and not one of fear, and overwelming fatigue or constant vomiting.

And yes, I am still singing that song, but at least its not the muppets theme!

lots of love xxx

thankful.....

I must admit. I am still a bit frazzled after the other days falling out with the person who used to be my brother.
my brother will always lie and steal, all I can do is keep him at arms length.....and accept my parents will always see him as they do!
But after reading Emma's post, and you know what .....life is short, and life is hard.
But it can be beautiful and loving and wonderful too.
I am thankful for more than I sad about.

I am thankful for my for family who do love me,
I am thankful for friends....and that includes you!
my lovely friend Bunty offered to be a ref for us for the adoption assessment.....
she scares social workers! hahaha but she paid me a huge compliment....
she has a wonderful son who I adore who has extra needs,
and she said she would trust me with him....and that means so much!

here's the sarcastic bit......
two people at work asked me to make them cards for someone.
I made this one for Sandra's inlaws.

and the other one, was one of the chalk dye smudgies with flowers on it,
using a stamp that my lovely Emma lent me!
I needed to print a bit with the person's name on it.
My lap top is sick, and kept freezing.
my xyron machine's last sticky pad for card was useless,
the computer upstairs doesn't have my print master soft wear in it.
Could I find the cd's to load into the computer .....
But I got it made.
I didn't take a picture of it.

Then I called the women who i made it for,
you can collect it next time you are in the dept.
and she said
"is it a nice card?, is it pretty? will i like it? Did you make a good job of it?"
no....i made it really awful ,,,just for you!
Did I tell you I specialise in crap cards??
I must not be so sarcastic!
I must also not get so hung up on people like this....
and next time she asks for card....
I will be washing my hair!
I am not in a bad mood honest!!!!
I am just a bit grumpy....thankful but grumpy

much love xxx

good and bad, happy & sad

The lovely lovely Emma gave me this!!!!! when I went round to see her and her lovely sproggies yesterday....NO I won't swap them for Poppy!!! Emma stop asking!!!
Anyway, it was a lovely day,

Andrew got his job, the one he and his office work mates all had to apply for to stay in the same job at the same place.....don't start me on this!
Spent time with Emma and kids....Poppy loved Jake & Belle!
Viewed a lovely house with my mate who has MS and needs disabled housing....which she is accepting and moving into once work has been done to make it suit her needs!
Had a great laugh with pal who came round in the evening.....

then

I fell out with my brother who has lied to both me and Andrew and cost me £200 and is happy he is getting away with that and a few other things....
my mum is going to , as always see his side of the story, and tell me to grow up......

but you know what,
I cant get involved in this with him again, as hard as it is.

I know my dad will be stuck in the middle,

I am 36....but I feel like a teenager all over again.

I hope your day was better ending than mine.

under construction......

last night while crafting away the sliver shelf that I have on my craft desk fell into the gap at the side of the table, sending the little box of sparkles and gems go flying EVERYWHERE!
The new paper stackers I had bought had been just balancing and no more.....
and the no more had gone!
SO my lovely hubby once again rose to the challenge, and made me a bigger table top to stop this happening again!

And added a shelf underneath and a wee shelf above!

This is after I asked this week, could we take down the pine hi-fi unit that had been too big for the living room, and could he make it fit by cutting say....3 inches off the back of it???

He did a great job! his weeks leave was used sawing and plaining and all sorts of manly stuff!
I think he liked it!

And of course Poppy helped........

This is it tidied!

you should have seen it before!
