for a special person......with love

I have spoken before about Laura, she was truly an amazing person who fought hard but sadly lost her fight against lung cancer in July, aged just 24....

She was way too young to die, and had way too many more things to do and so much more love to give.
Laura's family are setting up a charity in her name...Pink Mackenzie.

I made some scrapbook pages with some pictures of Laura to give to my lovely friend Bunty who is Laura's Aunt.
I didn't want to post pictures on here until I had delivered them to Bunty, but for one reason and another we didn't manage to get together till this evening.
We had a lovely meal with our Hubby's and I really enjoyed spending time with them.

This is the first scrap book page I ever made.
Emma helped me, both with the layout and with emotional support....
It was sad making these pages, but in a way it was almost like saying good bye to a lovely person I knew too briefly and only online and though her family. xx

I am very proud of these pages....
So here they are......

This one is for Bunty's daughter Nicola, who will miss her special cousin,
who she was very close to, spent family holidays with and loved like a sister and a best friend....

This one I am keeping....just sums up the fun that Laura and Rich shared in their love together.
It is really unfair they had so little time together, but they had more in thier short time than many couples have in relationships that last years......

There are many out there on blog land who are having difficult times,
heart broken over lost loved ones, worried about their own or loved ones health problems....
Life is hard and too often too short.

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

hippy hugs and love xxxx

friendship and tea

I enjoyed Sally card class on Tuesday and the two cards I made were very
different to what I would normally make.

One is a Chrimbo card that is gonna be for Emma,
so wont be shown here just yet.

And the other one is on it's way to a lovely friend. ( the lighting is awful....)

and has a wee envelope inside it with a tea bag....a bit cheesy but cute all the same!

In the post the other was a beautiful card from Chrissy.
Sent by Chrissy~mail....same as Elf post...

I commented on a card she made a wee while ago and asked if she would send me a couple of stamped images from this stamp....I don't normally do begging requests honest!

I have been looking everywhere for this stamp with no luck...
but Chrissy sent me lots of the images and a fair few more...

Thank you babes XXX

puppy school......

Wednesday evening are spent with Poppy dog at dog class....
we actually all enjoy it and Poppy works very well for about 45 minutes,
then decides at 1 year and two months that it is play time!!!

This is some folk getting ready to start once everyone arrives.....

the photo is a bit blurry....please do not adjust your set!

She is desperate to play with Brea the chocolate Labrador, but she don't like Poppy and she gets very jealous if anyone else speaks to Poppy!
She had a nip at Poppy when her owner spoke to Poppy,
so she got a telling off.....and Poppy was fussed by the women who takes the class and also by Brea's owner to show Brea that Poppy can be fussed and its nothing to do with her!
Dogs are funny creatures!

Anyway, I made a couple more altered Cds for some of the friends we have made at doggy class....

And this one is for Brodie's owner...Brodie is a small west highland Terrier who loves Poppy dog and the two of the greet each other with puppy kisses each week!! Poppy Loves him!!
He is at the class just before ours so they see each other as his class ends......
They sometimes meet down the beech and it is just crazy!

We had a quieter day today, Poppy dog lay in the sun and I made soup!

We did go and see Em & Belle, and all went for a run in the car to get some shopping.
Then Belle dropped her pink cat toy on the floor in the car,
Poppy who had been sitting beside her on the back seat jumped down on the floor
and had a wee shot of pink cat......and was not happy about having to give him back!
But not as unhappy as Belle was at Poppy having her cat!!!

jingle bells....jingle bells....NO NO NO!!!!

I am trying to get a few more cards made for Emma's troops appeal....
but it feels a bit wrong making Christmas cards....but then,
the stupid man on the local radio this morning reminded listeners...
there are only about 113 days left till Christmas......

ANYWAY!

the cards need to be at Emma's by the beginning of October.

The ladies at my card class at Sally's shop have said that when we will do a Christmas card evening they will all donate a card each to the appeal!
SO I am well chuffed with that!

Anyway....here are a few cards I have made.
The top two have already gone to Emma. Think that makes 4 or 5 now ....

I should have photographed them out of their cellophane bags!!! DUH!!!

And will take these to her today!

I am still not sure about pink Christmas cards...even though it seems to be pink and green for this years cards.....I do love Maggie and the pink ribbon that says make a wish is so sweet!

I love the simplicity of this one.... the lighting was not good on it, the card is plain white square.
black background and red gems on the funky hands background cut into a tree shape!

I love this one....I used Emma's sizzix to cut out loads of cookie men using brown card.....

more flowers but not as we know it

I have been doing the re-arrange the spare room for weeks now.
I get a wee bit done most days.
The delay is mainly due to low energy levels
but also due to the fact I find hidden stash that I forgot I had!

I discovered all my felt...loads of colours!
must have been from the whole making all our nieces and nephews
Christmas stockings project a few years ago.

I am planning to make some felt flower wall hangings with this stash.
but couldn't find templates that were jsut what I wanted...

I did fins some more felt, ready cut in flower shapes that i will use to make templates....
Finished these yesterday.....

Decided to make them into broaches. I love broaches and pin's.

Gave this blue and green one to Emma, she loves this colour combo.

You do managed to see all the missed blanket stitching on the close up....
ach well I still love them!

Christines blog candy......

My friend Christine is celebrating a huge hit count on her blog, a new job .... congratulations BTW! and having a one woman campaign to get the word verification removed from blog land!

GO CHRISTINE!

So to have a chance at the blog candy go check her out and give the whole word verification thing a thought or two.....
Me personally...I have turned that part of my blog off.
I hate it!
I find it difficult to read when I am tired and must admit I have failed to get it right a couple of times and left the blog without pasting my comment.....

here is Christine's argument.......

ARGUMENTS AGAINST WORD VERIFICATION

Everyone will have their own view, but in my case, I regard the removal of word verification as a basic courtesy to my visitors who are kind enough to take the time to leave comments. Being aware of their comments through comment moderation, but not hindering them with word verification is the very least I can do to reciprocate their courtesy to me.

The problem with word verification is that it takes too long. The characters are very often hard to decipher, and it’s frustrating when you get them wrong and have to re-enter the little suckers!

So this campaign is on behalf of busy bloggers. Please spare a thought for the poor bloggers who work so hard at getting round as many blogs as possible to leave sprinkles of blessing and good vibes wherever they go. The terrible proliferation of this awful plague of word verification is a blight on their efforts to make the Land of Blog a cheerier place.

I think most people just have word verification switched on by default, not realising how easy it is to switch it off, and perhaps not realising how annoying it is for other bloggers. Either that, or they’re under the misapprehension that they will be bombarded with spam messages. This is not the case. I’ve had mine switched off now for three of the four months that I’ve been blogging, and have had two spam comments. The responses I’ve had from other bloggers to my earlier posts on this topic back this up. (You can see the comments in response to my previous post on this subject, HERE.)

For safety’s sake, have comment moderation on for sure, but please consider canceling word verification on your blog. Maybe for a trial period, and see how you get on.

Unless there are thousands of comments being left, comment moderation shouldn’t be too much of an issue for the blog owner, and other bloggers will also be more inclined to leave comments if they can see that you don’t use word verification.

However, each to their own, and if you disagree with me, that’s cool. We can agree to differ and not visit each other’s blogs! lol ;o)
OK.. rant over. If you have read all the way to the end, thank you for putting up with it, and ~ obviously ~ do what you wish on your blogs, but I had to say something. I love to get around and leave comments, but word verification spoils the experience.
Of course, when I get my new job, all this will be academic to me, as I will then have a life, and I won't have time for much blog-hopping!! Not that blog-hoppers need to get a life.. Errr... think I'll stop digging now, before I get into REAL trouble!! lol ;o)

Peace. :o)"

So there you go...food for thought.....can I just add....
I did giggle out loud the other night,
I was leaving a comment of someones blog, who has verification,
and it almost spelt out a rude word!!!....

here Birdie, Birdie......

Haven't done much crafting this week...again.....
but when I was round at Emma & Belle's we did manage a wee bit of this and that.....
Belle di a fantastic job of glueing.....
And.....

I did my first ATC.

And her is one that the lovely Emma gave me....

Awww! I love the stamps she used....
