Christmas Candy & Blog Awards

Mates, mates, mates....

well my lovely buddy Emma has a great blog Christmas Candy on ....so go check it out and see her lovely candy.
The response she has had for her appeal for cards for the troop for Christmas has been amazing! Everyone has been so generous....probably for at least three reasons....

Crafters are lovely people!
This is a wonderful cause.
And Emma is much loved friend to many so when she asked they showed how much they cared!

Also I received these two fabby awards from my lovely friend Chrissy who is am amazing
card maker and wonderful artist!

She did my lovely drawing of Poppy at the top of my blog!

To translate the gift from Portuguese to English, it means:
"This blog invests and believes, the proximity"

[meaning, that blogging makes us 'close' -being close through proxy]

"They all are charmed with the blogs, where in the majority of its aims are to show the marvels and to do friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize, and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut, or that they propagate?
Then let's try to give more attention to them!
So with this prize we must deliver it to 8 bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text."

I am aware that lots of folk have also received these awards....so I need have a look around and see who I am gonna pass them on to......

sent it at last .......with love xxxx

I am bad enough at getting distracted from things I need to make but I am even worse at remembering to post them!
Posted at last today...

A photo card to Jennifer who does the most fab art work....go check her out!

It is a simple card but I love the "I am not going out in the rain Labrador " !!!

I did an images swap with the Lovely Vanessa a wee while ago.
She was very prompt sending mine to me...
But I didn't get them done as quickly as I wanted.

Sorry lovely xx

Don't you hate it when Life gets in the way of crafting?!?!?

And here is my offering back to her.

I am going to enter it into Arty Girlz Challenge & Also Papertake weekly Challenge.

I wanted it to look stunningly simple....But am thinking it looks too plain!

The sentiment on it says a simple" friends. "
And I am always amazed at what wonderful friends I have made on blog land!!!

The images are mainly Maggies and Hamish's who I love! From Sugar Nellie
Dangerously, the store is in my local town!

I went into and got some fab goodies!!!
Karen even has a sofa & coffee machine for Hubby's to sit and enjoy
while we browse so they don't follow you putting you off your crafting buys!!!

I bought a new stamp for someone's Birthday there today......

Of course I wasn't gonna show you what one I bought...it would spoil the suprise!......

Oh who's it for?

............YEAU like I was gonna tell you that EITHER!..............

me?

I want to be the kind of woman than when your feet hit the floor each morning, the devil says "oh crap, she's up!"

Tuesday cards makes

Last night's card class was a real giggle.

The ladies also donated cards for the Troops Christmas card appeal!!!!

And two more of them have cards to pop into us.
Emma & I will deliver the cards to the coordinator in Aberdeen on Saturday.
The total was at 1023 last time I looked on Emma's blog.

This are the two cards I made in class......

I love this card, its simple but so sweet.

I have always wanted to make a waterfall card, and we had the choice between Poinsettias or Daisies for the stamp.

I had made a few Christmas cards these last few days so went for Daisy.

The Poinsettias cards had a green matting card.
I picked yellow and am not sure if it is too bright but I like the end result.

I think I put the strip a wee bit wonky but I will have another go at these cards.

We are at the end of this block of the classes but start back again at the end of the month.

give & recieve

Energy levels were a bit better today....have a few bits of crafting I need to do yet....and have a rest before I go to card class this evening.

I haven't forgotten you Nessy honest....

don't know where the time has gone.
It was on my list of things to do ....
And I have done it!!!!!! Just need to post it tomorrow !!!!

Did manage to make these two cards from the Sketch Saturday Challenge
I like the plainness of the first one

But I also like the backing papers on this....

Think I will enter the snowman one ......

But more excitingly in the post today arrives a lovely wee party bag from Sammi!!!

And a beautiful wee ATC!!!! with an image of the Maggie Stamp I sent her for her Birthday!

And she is dressed in purple!!! PERFECT!

Thanks babe xx

I also discovered when it was chucking it down with rain today that even though Labrador's love muddy puddles, jumping in rivers, swimming in seas, wrestling with hose pies and even trying to get in the shower or bath beside you......

It seems the chucking it down with rain means we don't go out side unless we are attached to a human with a lead!!!!!

*sigh*

Best go...things to do...stuff to stamp, and things to make xx

Sloe's, stinkies and yellow feathers.....

We are coming to the end of our harvesting wild foods to preserve.

Just had sloe berries to pick, to make apple and sloe jelly and some sloe gin.
They are tiny sour plum like fruits that are themselves not something you would eat.

They are about as big as your thumb nail are the most beautiful purple almost black colour!

We have a secret place we go to every year, and it has never let us down.
There was a smaller amount of fruit on the tree's but the berries were bigger and much more juicy than the last few years.
All the rain we have had made the bracken and nettles huge round the sloe tree's.

We freeze them to get the skin to break down more easily so it seeps into the gin or jelly quicker.

Steeped in sugar and gin for months makes a beautiful liqueur.

And they make a lovely jelly with apples.

Poppy had a great time running around, she never went far away and came back when we called her, which is something she has only starting doing outside!

Even came back and sat with her lead on as folk rode past on four horses!
And she had never seen a horse before!

Before I boast about how well my beloved Poppy dog behaved......it is time to admit she found some decomposing animal and did what all manky dogs do.....ROLLED ON IT!!

MANKY Girl!!

quick rub down with baby wipes and a bath in the garden when we got home!!!

On the way to the sloes we saw a field with vintage tractors having a ploughing competition.

There were loads of beautiful machine all ploughing away. Quite something to see!

On the way home we called in to see Fiona who's dog Bailey is the litter mate of our old beloved Tilly.
He is almost 12 and a mumbly auld mannie of a dog now....the fact Poppy wanted to give him lots of poppy kisses was not something he enjoyed.....

After her busy day....and a tussle with a cats yellow feather toy....a girl just has to have a sleep!!

I know it looks like she has killed the budgie....but she hasn't!
