pink feathers

I found these lovely pink feathers online and I wanted to use them to add something to a page for Laura.
Pink Feathers are and will become very important to her family who miss this Angel very much.

I did this first page, but feel it is too fussy.
I am not sure if it is the backing paper which I love,
or the fact I have too many different shades on pink on it,
or have I used to many feathers??

The pictures of Laura are amazing!

This one I am more happy with.

It is very simple but Laura is stunning so it didn't need much.

I want to use the same pictures in a few different LO's to see what I get.

Oh I have 195 more shocking pink feathers if anyone wants some!!!

now leave for 5 mins!

No crafting done today....too busy with life stuff...
and energy levels not good and I have cold which is dragging me down.

Poppy has been having a problem with an itchy coat for a couple of days,
she is given flea stuff every month, there is no sign of any redness or of fleas or
beasties or anything to cause the irritation.

We popped into the vets and he had a wee look at Poppy who loves the vet!
She pulls you to get into the building, and jumps up when he calls her name....

He can't see anything but suggested we try a skin irritation releaving shampoo...

ok..... then he says,

thing is you need to do it 2 -3 times a week for a few weeks
and you need to leave it on for at least 5 minutes!!!

He has Labradors.....so he knows this is no easy task....

It's been cold here today, when she needs a bath due to rolling in dead animals we do it outside
with buckets of warm water, but decided standing outside with her and us portably soaking in while it was so cold was a bad idea!

This is her after we said you going for a bath?
she did some amazing spinning round and round the bed so we couldn't catch her....

then lay down so flat it made her hard to pick up!! Refusing to come off the bed!

but we got her....

so madam....do you have any plans for the weekend? Going out tonight?

the itchy bit seems to be her inside leg........and as I lathered up on her belly
she lifted her leg to show me where needed doing! LOL

the bottle said leave lather to soak for at least 5 -10 mins.....

it was just five mins before she decided she had been good long enough and was gonna jump out!
Managed to get hosed her off and got her all dried and fluffy.

She then spent ten mins running round the back garden going ballistic running through her digging patch and under shrubs......she is now sleeping ....

and so far ....no itchys!

for Laura's Cousin

I have made scrap pages before for my friend Bunty's niece Laura
who died a few months ago aged 24 , just days before she was due to marry her soul mate.
Laura died from genetic lung cancer, she was a very healthy, non smoker aerobics instructor
and her family are setting up a charity in her memory called Pink Mackenzie.

The pages I did for Bunty have been seen by family member's and Yvonne ,
Laura's cousin had left a lovely comment on my bebo page about them.

So I made these two pages for Yvonne

The more colourful one is for Yvonne's daughter Amy who was very close to Laura.

I have made them similar in layout to keep them linked and also used the large flowers with falling petals .

I love how they seem to blow away in the wind....

Amy just loves Laura's wee dog Jess.

Talking of dogs.......if you were a Labrador....

and you came in on a cold day.....
and found a pile of warm towels out of the tumble dryer waiting to be folded.....
what would you do???

Of course you would make a snuggly bed out of them!!!

Happy 18th Birthday Natalie !!

Happy Birthday Natalie!!!

18 today!

I know you liked your wee Hamish stamp,
here is Tilda with a wee drink for you!

the wee pink hearts in the corners are made with sizzex dies.

and one more makes seven....ish....

Well yesterday I started to have a go at the sketch Saturday challenge....
but I managed to get distracted and carried away by a few of the pretty previous
sketch challenges and didn't do #19 which is this weeks one!!!

But here he is........

I have been looking for See D stamps with the Christmas stamp that was a simple "Joy"
and I found it on do crafts site half price!!!

They arrived today!

So had a wee play with them.....

The joy stamp is so simple but just so pretty....
Inside is a stamp with the meaning of Joy on it.

I love this Peace, Love & Joy stamp from one of the See D stamp sets.
The card is simple but pretty I think with the Black white and red on the pearly card

The backing papers are do crafts and the dove is a cuttle bug die.

I have decided to try and make a few Christmas cards each day and am not getting stressed about making many cards for particular people.....
Like I have done for the last few years.
This year I feel the need to keep it simple and enjoy making the cards for a change.

two stamps............six cards

After months of feeling absolutely awful....
waking up feeling pretty good today was a wonderful surprise!
Energy levels were not 100% but I felt pretty well!
I feel I am on the mend!

We often have our mate round for dinner on Saturday or Sunday,
so we usually have a bit of cooking and do.

My lovely hubby prepared all the veggies and and stuffing for Sunday Dinner,
I prepared the lamb to roast with garlic and herbs.
The house was tidy, the washing was out drying.......and a fantastic Raspberry and white chocolate cheese cake was setting in the fridge after we made it yeaterday!

And came out of the tin in one whole piece!!!!

I served it on a drizzle of home made Raspberry sauce with some Raspberrys and some slightly whiped double cream if you want the extra callories.....Like there wasn't enough on the plate!

It looked fab and tasted even better!!!

With all this done I thought I will go do a bit of crafting and make a couple Christmas cards.

I love these two stamps....

I bought them at Sally's shop Bee Crafty in Elgin, where I go to do my Tuesday Card Class.

The "let it snow" is a Do Crafts and the Scribbles snowman is Fun Stamps.

I had been looking at the Sketch Saturday site to have a go at their challenge,
I am relatively new to challenges and I had a wee I look back at previous sketches.
I loved the different layouts they had.

So I thought I would try some out, using the same two stamps on each one.
I managed six.....

I know pink and green seem popular in the shops for this years Christmas colours,
But I am still not sure about them together on a Christmas card.

But I think this one is my favourite!

I used lots of different techniques, in these cards, embossing, glitters, sukura pens, funky kits downloads, do crafts papers. pearly card, buttons, ribbons, jewels, cuttlebug embossing folder, mirror card, double sided sticky card, stuff from my stash.....all sorts!

You know what ....I never did this weeks sketch challenge!!!
But we only ate one piece of cheese cake each!!!

Hamish

I love sugar Nellie Stamps... my favourite has to be Hamish and Maggie.
I am lucky enough to have the shop that sells the worldwide in my local town...

I bought a new Hamish yesterday, wee chef Hamish...he is cute and I was planning on haven some craft time later on , but seemingly Emma has a few more Christmas cards for sorting....
ooh have you checked her Christmas Candy out yet?

Hamish will just have to wait!

But in true Blue Peter fashion...
and oh yes You know I have a Blue Peter badge....
here is a Hamish Card I made earlier!!

This one is to be entered for the This Thursday Challenge.....its is all about flags!
Have also entered it on the ABC Challenge too, which the layout came from .

I think it will used for my older brothers Birthday card next month.

Have a lovely Friday xxx
