laptops back!!

Lap top is home! and all fixed! wooooo hooooooo!
So time to up-date what I have been working one the last two days.....

This one is for Magnolia V's Stampavie challenge which this week is clean and simple.
You can use only three colours.

So here is my cream, blue and dark brown.
It is really not my usual style but I think it looks ok.

This one is using a soft centre stamp from Sugar Nellie stamp that I got in an image swap.
The sketch is by Dawny P and is for Papertake Weekly Challenge.

And this one is using the template I bought at card class the other week.
I have used cut out ivy leaves instead of holly and under the yellow post it note is a tiny envelope that has our friends new address on it, obviously I don't want to advertise that here.

And lastly is a wee sneeky peep at a card I have done as DT member for Crafty Muse....
which are safely under wraps for the time being,

but go check out the blog and come and join us on this fortnights challenge. xxx

Am off to go get Emma for card class. Will check out everyones blogs when I get home xxx

Poppies for Remembrance

Poppies for Remembrance

For The Fallen

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain;
As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end, they remain.

Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

show two......... hide one.

Well as I suspected Poppy -dog was non guard duty last night
and neither of us got much sleep....
She then woke for her breakie as usual at 7am....
Andrew came home at 8am .....

*yawn*

Anyway, I made three cards today.

Two are being shown and one is not yet out and about as it will be used for something later on!

This one is using a sketch I used before from Sketch Saturday that I liked.

I think it was in September this was used in a challenge....

Anyway the second card is Kim's Sketch on Simply Fairies.

Hope she likes my take on her sketch.

The photo is rubbish, but behind the black layer is vellum that
I have put through the cuttlebug and I love the result you get from that!

Hope you are having a great Sunday and had a lovely weekend.

much love xxxx

highlights of a Saturday!

Been a good day.
Am getting used to the very bright highlights I got done yesterday!

I did like Jennifer's suggestion of blue one's
and have tried purple before but they didn't show up in my hair....

Back to cards.....

I tinkered with this one using Sammi's Angelique.
I straightened the layered image and added the vellum flowers in each corner.

I am going to enter it into Cute Card Thursday which is Angels and Fairies.

Two sketch challenges were done while Andrew slept this afternoon.

This one is for a spoonful of sugar and is a sketch by Trina.

This one is for the secret crafter's Saturday Challenge.
Sketch is by Wendy.

My sentiment is stamped onto the ribbon its self.

Took Poppy-dog into pets at home today to get her some dog treats,
and work on lead work in public places.
She did very well.
There was a lot of commands given, and many times told her "No" "leave"
when she was sniffing at all the doggy treats but she didn't take anything she wasn't ment to.
I picked up three medium raw hide bones and gave her one to carry.

As we were walking to the till an older lady dropped her purse ,
Poppy picked it up and when I said "give" she handed it to me with no hassle!
I wiped off the slavers..... and gave it to the lady!
This is the part in dog class and more so at home she throws whatever she has in her mouth around and try's to run off with it!

The lady and folk watching ( and I must admit myself) were all very impressed!!!

The lady then wanted to buy her a dog sweet as a reward but I said she had plenty, and could give her one of Poppy's own treats that I had in my pocket.

So fun over and she picked up her bone and we went to pay for our items.
The lady at the tills asked how she was behaving , I said very well most of the time ,
and she informed me Labradors are teenagers from 1 to 3 years.....

Only another 18 months or so to go then!

Command "paws up" Poppy stood up at counter and dropped her bone to be scanned!!!
Paws down is to stop her jumping up and she only does paws up when I tell her she can....
as she is a wee pincher!!!
Then she was instructed to collect her bone after the lady at the till gave her a biscuit too!
This shopping lark is much more fun with a Labrador.

Friday again.

Can't believe it's the end of the week again!
Got loads done, but nothing that I aimed to do....so mixed week really!
Andrew starts nights shifts again for the first time in 3 years tomorrow after a re-jig at the office.
Not keen on being in alone, but I am sure Poppy will be on guard duty!

Never took pictures of card I made at class on Tuesday, two very different styles as usual.

This was the simple second card we made, we tend to a simple one if first one is a time consumer...

I like this, it is blue pearl card with white core so when you nail filed it it looks so pretty.
I still have to stick some more wee gems on it. Will add to list of things to do.

The ribbon was stamped too and that's something I will do again.

This one took a while to do but is cute!
Its a snow shaker & we used sugar inside!!!

Not a good picture, the acetate don't photograph well!
Still need to put a greeting on this one.
I often don't add greetings till I decided who I am giving them to.

So I tried this at home, using tiny little stars and am pleased with outcome.

Also this week as you may know Sammi has started a new challenge blog and asked myself and three others to be on the DT....yes I will keep reminding you of this fact! LOL

Sammi has a free image to download, you can use this wee fairy lass or any other image you want on the nbew blog so go have a lookie!

I have been playing with images of Angelique and trying to get to grips with new pro-markers.
Has anyone used a blender pen with them? I bought one but haven't tried it out yet.
Thanks Emma for info you emailed me on promarkers.

This is what I have done so far!

And i know it's November and Summer was over before we noticed it was here.....
but I was fed up doing Christmas cards!
Am entering this one on the ABC Challenge, this week being P for pink.

Am off to physio...have not done my arm exercises three times a day like I am ment to...
first week I have been naughty! You know they will know don't you!!!!
And then off to get my hair cut and coloured....
Haven't had highlights put in for a long while,....couldn't be bothered...
not sure what colours I will get this time....

have a great Friday and a lovely weekend

Carrbridge capers

Was a Beautiful day when I set off yesterday.
Takes me about 50 mins to get to Carrbridge, near the Cairngorms
Where my mate Bunty lives.

This is the road, I had to stop when I saw my first views of snowy peaks.
This view never fails to impress me.

Bunty's Labrador Cassie is 6 weeks older than Poppy dog
They both are mental when they get together....

I did try to take some photos,

But It is imposable to get them to stay still!!

Seriously! That was they best I could do !
I did catch a short video.

Cassie is the boss I think out of the two of them.
They both came in covered in slobbers and it was 5'C outside ,
they were giving off so much heat you could see them steaming !

Not having my laptop just is a real pain,
I am not spending much time upstairs on the computer
where as before I could watch Tv
and surf the net on my laptop,
hope he comes home soon!

Sammi's new blog! Crafty Musings!

Sammi is starting a new blog called Crafty Muse.
And has asked myself and three other lovely girls to be on her DT!!!!

Go check them out!

All the details on Sammi's blog!

Good Luck Darl!!!

This is my offering using Angelique with a Birthday cake in my fave colour of purple!!!

I have others coloured in and ready to make cards with!

Very exciting!!!!!
