To do and done

So after getting my craft room all tidied up
and cleared away Xmas stuff all into one place,
I thought I will have a wee look and see what the usual challenges are up to
and maybe get some inspiration for the cards I need for up coming Birthdays.

OH MAN!!! I am a little bit overwhelmed with how many I want to try
and how many I will get done!

I also need to get two image swap done, two wallet cards to pop them into.
I have a few Birthday cards to do.......
and two cards for a ribbon challenge I have entered.....

This is becoming a to do list.....

Here is what I have done in the last few days.....

First one is for Sketch Saturday #33
I love Brown and Blue together and I thought it was a bit plain at first
but I kinda like the simpleness.

This sketch from One Stop Craft Challenge
is going to be for my God Daughter's daughter
Brooke who is 2....man that makes me feel old!
It was to have buttons or brads on it.

Tilda is sitting on a 2 but i think I should have made it a bigger 2....ach well.
The Tilda stamp is fairly new to me, it was a gift from Natalie, which I haven't used much, she is ment to have wee holly leaves on her bunchies, but I trimmed them off.
I know she is holding a Christmas decoration....But she is so pretty!!!
The buttons were part of my Santa pressies and the stash is all the rest.
I love the daisy stamp on it, coloured with sukra.

The Penny Black Challenge is to use embossing which the pink background is.
I decided to use it to make the wallet for an image swap so that's why it has Trixi's name on it.

I think the image itself came from Natalie cheers babes!
It is made using the first sketch on Becky's new challenge blog Sketch and Stash Challenge
I didn't mean it to have so much pink on it, and the large flower was not the shade I wanted
but it was all I had. And it looks ok.

And last be no least.....at Tag your it they want you to show off your new Christmas goodies.
I got my new cuttle kids Penguin die, my hubby went to the Falklands almost 14 years ago.
We had not been married very long and he send me a penguin soft toy every month.....for 6 months. He came home two days before our first wedding anniversary!
So I made this for him!!

slice and a tag

So yesterday was my parents Golden Wedding Anniversary
and this was a inside slice of the HUGE cake
we made for desert for everyone!

I loved the checkered effect and everyone loved it!

In true party style we all went home with a bit
& only my nephew Martyn who is almost 16,
was the only one who managed a whole slice!!!
The rest of us only attempted a half slice.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now over at Crafty Pad it is time already to
join us in our THIRD challenge!
Can you believe that no 3 already!
So this week, we are looking for you to use Faith in a project ...
~*~ All wrapped up with a bow ~*~
- add a bow somewhere on your creation.
Now I haven't done many tags,
in fact apart from the odd tag card & some simple xmas tags
I haven't done any tags as such! I don't know why cause,
I loved this !!
The dark brown card looks really cool with the
bronze stamped ink and dreen sukra pen.
And I have not used the flower soft on anything
apart from a card I made at card class...
But this I liked.
There is also a preview of the next lot of Faith stamps....go have a peek!
Golden Anniversary and a Birthday
So today is my Parents Golden Wedding Anniversary......
We are going to a family Buffet at their house that my siblings & I have arranged.
Andrew and I made this cake for them with golden orchids from the local florist.
You cut inside it and it will be checkered!!!
And here is my card to them.
I can tell you it took me ages to do the wee Golden Rose's on it.
And the lovely Jennifer has a Birthday today too.....
Now I seem to have failed to appreciate that
due to New Year and Scotland having a holiday on the 2nd ......
and that my card was not posted before Hogmany.....
that she was not gonna get it in time!!! DUH!
So Jennifer.... it is in the post !
Hope you have Wonderful day.
And for those who have not seen her blog, go look at the beautiful art work
this lovely lassie dose!
Crafty Muse ~ New House!!
I am such a naughty DT member!!!
I thought I had put this to post....and hadn't!!!
Anyhooo............. Over at Crafty Muse....The theme this fortnight is
~~ Something New~~
Sammi says...
"Something New" .... for example a new year, new baby, new home, new job .... Make a card or project based on this theme
Remember that you do not have to use a Crafty Muse image but you'll receive 2 entries into the draw if you do.
The prize for this fortnight is something new too - it will be a free download bundle (to be released in a fortnights time ... I'll give you a few sneak peeks next weekend when I get back from holidays - 9th Jan)."
So here is my something new, a new home card. Using Angelique at her new home.
My Fave of 2008
Dawn has taken on the challenge and challenged us all to look at the work
we have done in 2008 and pick our 10 faves....
I thought it would be easy to do.
In no particular order.......
Firstly is the first ever scarp page I did.
Emma Elfie helped me and it was for my friend Bunty.
The beautiful young woman in it Laura, died this summer.
Aged just 24 , two weeks before she was due to marry her soul mate Richard.
This was my first ATC, Emma also helped me with this.
I love the colours on it with the contrasting papers on the leaf.
It was also one of my first cuttlebug dies.
This was a card that was way out of my usual style.
I love all the different papers on it.
And the saying on it , was something Laura used to say.
Next a recent make.
The Holly King, a pagan card for Yule
made for my Dear friends Nan & Paul.
Our niece Robyn got engaged to Paul this spring.
This exploding box was full of pictures of her and Paul.
The rose in the centre too ages to make.
There HAD to be a Poppy Dog one!
This was one of my fave Xmas cards.
With guard dog Poppy reporting for duty sir!
Friends of ours got married at the start of December.
This card followed a sketch and I wasn't sure about the rings on it.
But the lace is actually spare lace left over from making my wedding dress!
An early make.
The butterfly is a brooch I made.
I love butterflies, I have one as a tattoo on my shoulder.
A lady at work became a Nanna and this is a book to celebrate
her Grand daughter Matilda's birth.
Each page has details of her weight,
or the date or the
place of birth.
And lastly a card that looks quiet cute from the outside....
And inside is the nativity scene.
I actually changed the star inside
to a bigger one that Sammi gave me.
It took ages to get everything to fit
and the donkey and lambs come out
and act as stabilisers for the card.
Mary, Joesph and Baby Jesus pull to the centre.
I must admit.
I thought it had three wise men and two shepherds.
and we almost had two Josephs on the card......
Looking back.....many of my cards have green or brown on them....
I do love green and browns!
Have enjoyed this looking back at the last year.
But its been so much fun as you guys have done this year with me.
Many hugs my lovelies.
2009 is at the door.....
Remember,
Life is short,
Break the rules,
Forgive quickly,
Kiss slowly,
Laugh uncontrollably,
And never regret anything
that made you smile!
In 2009 I have made new friends including all you guys.
Been happy to see friends deliver much wanted children.
Found old friend & started new journeys with them online.
Sadly said goodbye with a heavy heart to people I have lost.
